I have a 11 year old daughter that started her period at 9 years old.since then, she has really started to developed everywhere.I noticed today that she has hair under her arm and on her legs. She tickles me when she says she looks like a gorilla.I am wondering whether to start her off shaving with a disposable razor or go with an electric razor since they won't cut her.I am not sure. It's already hard for me to see her grow up to fast.Help!

I know what you mean. My daughter is almost 11 and have just discovered that I need to get her a strapless bra. There is no way she will be able to get away with tank shirts and no bra this summer. Sorry I can't help much on the razor issue. Her hair is blond so it doesn't show much.

It really depends on how comfortable you think she is with using a real razor!

My daughter will be 11 tomorrow. She wanted to shave back in the fall when she was cheering for football. I was afraid she would cut herself so I bought the nair that comes with a plastic razor. She tried it once and then I told her if she was comfortable with a disposable razor to go ahead and use it. I think it really depends on the child and if she is ready to use the real razor.

Kristen started shaving about 6 months ago (her legs) and over a year ago for underarms. She uses a disposable and the other night she took her first strip of skin off her leg (I told her no more trying to shave when you are rushing in the shower - take your time) and its pretty nasty but we all do that sooner or later. When the child is ready its time. As for disposable vs electric that's a personal thing. But I would never force my child to go swimming with underarm hair because she is a certain age. Its hard to see them grow up, but I'd ask her what she'd prefer to try.
