LOL...you have stated everything that I was alluding to!!!
And we were STILL under tornado watches TODAY!!!!! This rain is not supposed to stop until Friday! And there's thunderstorms with favorable conditions for tornadoes in the bands. They're still affecting you, too, aren't they?
And going back to the politics and the deaths. You really weren't going to see that this time even if the levees broke because the state put together a WONDERFUL effort to get people evacuated. The evacuation rate was the highest ever, and they really had a calm, but aggressive plan in place to make it happen...and it did!
hmm...I remember you being one of those knuckleheads! ;o)
Well, Nagin learned...and he had a lot of assistance.
I'm glad the rain has stopped for you! Yes, those areas of Mississippi that are directly north of me were still getting hit hard with rain/tornado warnings today.
apparently to the rest of the world, New Orleans is Louisiana, and it's also Mississippi for that matter!
"no earlier than Monday"...that's all we know right now. A co-worker told me they will open on a per-school basis, since the southern part of the parish got it a lot worse (flooding..waterways).
