Good Evening ladies

I hope that everyone had a great weekend.

I have a question and I hope you all have some suggestions.

I just read something in a magazine (I know, not always the best source of medical information...), but it mentioned that hot flashes are not always associated with menopause, but could be a symptom of something else (I remember it mentioned high blood pressure, but can't remember the other things they listed).

NOt sure Rasheita, but I can tell you that I had hot/cold flashes when my thyroid issues started happening.

I would guess menopause, although hypertension comes to mind. Do you have high blood pressure? I would have your doctor check this out also. Good luck and keep us posted.

Perimenopause can happen for years and years before true menopause. The symptoms are similar but

Rasheita, perimenopause can start in your mid 30's and last 10 or 15 years til you are fully menopausal.

Hi all,

I just got back from the doctor and they are checking me for my thyroids and my hormones level.

Yes, this happens to me all of time. It usually happens the week before my period. DD 11 has had this too for about the last two months. So i suspect hers is coming very soon too.
Let us know what the dr. said.

Not quite to the extreme of hot flashes and chills, but I've been experiencing some odd body temp changes (one minute hot, next minute cold) for the past few weeks.

I go in tomorrow for my physical with my regular dr and to do my annual bloodwork (thyroid, cholesterol, triglycerides, etc), so I will mention it. I also go to my Gyn in 2 weeks, so I will mention it to her as well.

Let us know what the tests come back.
