Hello everyone! I have also noticed from my DD that everytime she responds to us she has a whining and hateful tone of voice. Help!! Is this a phase or something deeper? It is also driving me nuts. Is this normal at this age ? I would appreciate any and all help at this point. Thanks.

I think attitude is very common at this age, from what everyone has frequently posted here ;-) I would try just calmly saying "I don't hear you when you use that tone with me." or something along those lines that you're comfortable with. I sometimes say, "Please try that again in an appropriate tone of voice", and also remind them that being disrespectful is totally unacceptable in our house.

Please let us know how you're doing! I think you'll get some other responses, too (hint, hint ;-)
