I thought I should introduce myself, since I posted down below, but I'm not sure this is the right folder to do it in. Sorry if I'm messing the board up, LOL. I have been a member of iVillage for a long time (Since being pregnant with my girls), and post on several boards, and I always feel like if I'm going to jump on a new board, it is only right to introduce myself, so here I go. . .
My name is Sofia (I guess you could tell that from my siggy, LOL!). I'm the proud SAHM to 4 great kids: Matthew is my 10 year-old (DOB: 9-15-98), Justin is 7 (DOB: 8-24-01), and I also have identical twin girls, Tessa and Jenna, who turned 5 on September 10. I've been married to my DH Michael for 15 years. We were high school sweethearts :) He is an Emergency Medicine physician at a big urban teaching hospital, and he also teaches medical students. We live on the East Coast.
In lurking around a bit, I see a few familiar faces from other boards (Hi Laura and Brandi!).
I'm new to the whole pre-teen/tween thing, and I admit it's making me a bit nervous, LOL. I am already shocked (and a bit amused) that kids in his class in FIFTH GRADE are talking about "going out" with each other (Going out where, I wonder? LOL). . . Matthew is heading into some challenging years. Hopefully it will be a smooth ride. I'd love to get the wisdom of all you moms who have gone before me! I am also hoping that NONE of my kids turn out to be ANYTHING CLOSE to how I was as a teenager, LOL! ;)
Nice to meet everyone! And sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread!

I thought I recognized your username! I do remember you! I remember you have a DD Carys, and that is my middle name (spelled Karis), and we discussed that back in the day, LOL! Wow, it's been a long time! How are you, girl? :)
It's really nice to see you again, and thanks for the welcome! Looks like you're running an awesome board here.
Thanks Mindy. . . What an interesting job you have! My 5 year-old DD has Selective Mutism. We just got her diagnosis last Spring, and she now has an IEP in kindergarten. Kudos to you for working with special ed kids!!
I hope that your DD is doing well in kindergarten, and that her school has all of the right programs and professionals for her.

What are you in school for? I'm beginning the process of applying for a Master's in Social Work. I'm totally SCARED WITLESS because I have 4 kids and a DH who works the most insane and long hours of anyone ever. I'm afraid I'll never have time to study, won't be able to make it to class, and will flunk out in like 2 weeks, LOL.
Oh, I guess I'm bumping this back up to the top of the folder by asking you this. . . I'm so sorry! I'm really not that full of myself that my intro needs to be at the top of the page, LOL! I also don't mean to come in here as a newbie on the board and rearrange all the furniture in the house. . . Kind of what I'm doing, huh? How rude!! ;)
Thanks Ang! Nice to meet you!
