Well it's official. Connor starts up at the high school tomorrow. This time tomorrow he'll be sitting in his first period class. I'm excited for him and a bit sad at the same time. He's growing up so quickly. Seems like just yesterday he was and starting Kindergarten.
Last week he got his student ID and his class schedule. There are two semesters to the year. Aug-Jan and Jan-June.
Semester one he has:
1st block Freshman Seminar (required class)
2nd block World Studies Honors
3rd block English 1 Honors
Lunch is in the middle of third block.
4th block choral and concert choir (each meeting every other day for the entire year).
Semester two:
1st block Algebra 1 Honors
2nd block Physical Science
3rd block Spanish 2 Honors
Lunch is in the middle of third block.
4th block choral and concert choir (each meeting every other day for the entire year).
Connor has been up at the high school for the past three weeks doing double sessions for freshman football. He's third string, but doesn't care, he's just glad to play. To be honest he does fairly well for a kid who was never supposed to walk and spent 9 years of his life in physical theropy. I see where he is now and I am in awe of how far he's truly come.
I'm looking forward to this being a year of lots of change. To seeing him mature and to grow.

How exciting for Connor and bittersweet for mom & dad!
Good luck to him today!

Wow! YOu sure are calm about all this, I was a BASKET CASE thinking about high school! LOL! I don't think it will be so back for my second kid because the middle/high school is combined..she's already there! It sounds like he has a great year ahead of him!

How is football going?
It's going ok. He made third string so he won't see much playing time. This is the only sport he's going out for this year so it shouldn't be too bad, just three more months. It's a hectic schedule. School until 2, practice from 3-6 everyday with games on Thursday nights.
It's not all that bad, but when you consider that he still has homwork, he sings with two different choirs and has rehearsals for those, add guitar practice and lessons, and worship band rehersals each week it really cuts into what time he has to just relax.
I'm worried that he's stretched himself too thin this first semester but we shall see how it goes.
