Hi,
I was just wondering.... when high school kids apply to university the schools need a transcript of their academic record. What do homeschoolers need? I don't think in Ontario they are tested by the board so how does the universities they are applying to know what their grades are like?

It's great to see such an involved discussion on the board!
I guess it's only administered for US colleges then, I thought it was all over, oops!
I haven't looked into it because it is way too structured for us but I believe there is information on it on the TVO (TV Ontario) website.

My research has found the opposite. It is also contrary to the advice our guidance counselors are giving the high school students. While colleges are interested in the scores, they are more interested in the transcript. Here is one article.

Have you read the book "The Gate Keepers". It is the true story of one college admissions officer at Wesleyan University in Connecticut during one academic year. According to this admissions officer they looked more carefully at the scores if they weren't familiar with your high school, and couldn't gage how rigorous it was.
