Homework battles. Sigh. I am getting so frustrated with the school. It seems to be a "teach yourself" year. She doesn't understand how to find percentages and the answer to her question in class is "ask your neighbor", one who has no clue and the other a math genius who just gives her the answer because he figures it out in his head. She had no clue what her literature book is about, she doesn't understand it but they are just left to their own devices, no guidance, no help, no direction.
Drats! I'm so sorry you 2 are having such a bad year. It sounds like a bad situation. You can come whine whenever you want Tam. Sorry I don't have a brilliant idea for you. I can say some prayers though. :)
I'm sorry it's been so rough. I end up teaching Evan and Megan alot too. Mostly because they're ahead of their classmates and just plain want to learn something. It's got to be incredibly frustrating! Hang in there for a few more months and cross your fingers for next year.
Evan's having a bad year too. Good teacher but he's brought some things on himself that are making his school life less than pleasant and I'm afraid he's going to end up hating school. Fortunately, he's headed to middle school next year so maybe a new environment and new classes will add some excitement. He LOVES new things and new situations.
Pretty uneventful... We usually make edible dirt to celebrate. Chocolate pudding, oreo crumbs, cool whip, and gummy worms. Didn't get to do it this year because we didn't have the stuff to make it, I was in no shape to go get it, and dh is trying to run the house, run a business, and look for a job so he couldn't get it either.
I am sorry to hear you and kristen are having a hard year. I do understand that though. I hope things get better for you. maybe you should get that meeting and mention that kristen is having a hard time with certain things. See what they suggest.
