Last year I drove her to school about once a week, maybe less because I had to drop off lunch supplies for the emergency lunch program or if it was excessively cold I drove her. This year I may have to leave 1/2 hour earlier for work with my new position (not sure yet) and if so she'll have to take the bus everyday. She used to hate taking the bus when she was the only kid at our stop, but this past year there is about 8 kids there so she actually prefers to take the bus and go and gab and fool around with the other kids in the mornings.

The plan is that she will walk to middle school. We live less than a half mile from the school.

I drive them since they are in before & aftercare, which is in the school. Since DH & I work FT neither one of us can hang around until the bus comes at 8:30am if we want to leave work to pick the girls up.

Actually this yr it works out really well since Rach is now a patrol & has before class duties -- she needs to be at school by 7:45am!

The girls take the bus before school, unless they're running late.I take my lunchbreak late,so that I can pick them up from school..Last year they rode the bus home.Kacie had so much homework that she was still working on it@6.So,we decided to pick them up.Besides, they don't like the bus in the afternoons..

Last yeatr, DH dropped them off and they took the bus home. This year will be the same on some days but for the most part, they opted to take the bus to and from school.

My kids take the bus to school most days, but I pick them up a few times a week. This is because of afterschool acitivites.. We often don't have time (and it's silly) for them to come home on the bus, then for us to get back in the car and drive right back by school to get to the activities.

Just wondering why you didn't include... walk or bike. I don't live close enough to a school for that. But if I did by this age my DD would be transporting herself to school.

She walks home in the nice weather, but takes the bus to school or rides her bike.

Sarah rides her bike to school with her Dad and a neighbor boy to the 6th grade middle school. It's 1.8 miles, just under bus riding limit. Jenny rides the bus to her elementary(grades 1-5) school. I ride Elathan to Pre-K in a bike trailer, it's .9 miles and much better than dealing with the drop off car line. I hope I lose weight with all this biking.
