How tall are your kids?

Hi to you all,

I'm wondering how tall your kids are. My son is 13 years old and very short 4'2" . It is starting to really annoy him that he's so much shorter than his friends (nevemind his younger sister). Also are there short kids in your kids classes?

Yes there are. One boy in particular is about eight inches
shorter than my daughter. Let's see, my kid is about 4'10"
so this guy must be right around 4'2". The kids are only
ten though.

Some of the finest basketball and soccer players I've seen
among the kids are shorter than average and fast. Is he
healthy, and active? Is he sports minded?

My son is going to be 13 in November, and he is also short, about 56" tall (4'8"?). There are a few kids shorter than him in his class, but not many! He is naturally athletic and unfortunately his favorite sport is basketball, so he is really anxious to GROW. We just keep telling him, "Every team needs a point guard." And reminding him about his uncle, my brother, who didn't really grow until his senior year of high school--and is now 6'4".

"...you might let him know that tall people have to deal with stuff too like everyone making comments about them playing basketball or the old "How's the weather up there...",etc.

Not to mention annoying younger cousins who may call them "Beanpole"!

Thanks to Kelly (mom2emsopmax) for my beautiful siggy! Photobucket

That's what I was wondering, if he had stayed on the same % or started to drop.

My DD (11) is 4'10" my DS (7) is 4'3". They both stick around the 75th percentile but both are young for grade so still seem on the smaller side though not the smallest in their classes.

It's not uncommon at all for boys to be quite small at this age. My 6th grade dd told me that at her school there were 8th grade boys shorter than her 2nd grade sister.
