How tall are your kids?

Hi to you all,

I'm wondering how tall your kids are. My son is 13 years old and very short 4'2" . It is starting to really annoy him that he's so much shorter than his friends (nevemind his younger sister). Also are there short kids in your kids classes?

I finally got around to responding. My DD is 13 and is nearly 5'3" and 120 lbs. I am 5'2.5 and her Dad is 6'2" so I had hoped she'd be a bit taller. But she may grow some more yet. I always hated being "short". Her best guy friend is probably 5"7" or so (basketball player) but alot of the guys are her height or slightly shorter. (That will likely change quite abit this year). One of the boys on our street her age is very short, not sure exactly, probably more like 4'7" or so. However one of my DD's best girl friends is probably 4'2". Her mom is not quite 5' and her Dad is very short so she'll be lucky if she makes it to 5' but she's less developed than my DD so she might have a spurt yet.

It is hard to be too anything at that age. They don't want to be too short, too tall, too skinny, too fat, too smart, too dumb. They just want to be like everyone else and be "normal". So hopefully your son will have a spurt soon and he won't feel that he stands out so much. A height difference however does not seem to make a difference when it comes to school crushes that I've noticed. Lots of short guys with tall girls, so that shouldn't be an issue for him (not that he should be dating but I'm sure it crosses his mind).

My ds is 11yo and was just measured last week at the dr. to be 60 1/4in. tall. which I think is just over 5 feet.

I think the trick of doubling the height at age 2 won't be correct for everyone, especially for kids that early or late bloomers

I guess Connor is the opposit of my son then. He's gonnan be late bloomer will probably only start puberty at 15, so has a lot of growing to do. But ok, whether he becomese 5'5" or 5'7" or 6', it doesn't change a person for me!

Its definitely strange...the teachers at her school laugh because they have seen her grow from a kindergartner to being taller than me.

I understand what you mean! Here it's exactly the opposit. My 13 yo ds who is 4'2" gets treated like a 1st grader... Oh well your dd and my ds next to each other would be a cute couple lol
