I need a Mystery book for 10 yr old boy

Midnight for Charlie Bone is pretty good; we're reading the sequel right now (Charlie Bone and the Time Twister). The Spiderwick Chronicles are good, short reads too, and it's kinda an ongoing mystery...

DS (who turned 12 yesterday) enjoys the Hardy Boys books. They seem like an easy read, but he is a fairly avid reader, so I'm not sure exactly where they'd fall in the reading difficulty spectrum. Admittedly, they look "old" so they may not seem exciting to someone who hasn't read them before. But there are newer ones too. I think they are called the Hardy Boys Case Files and they are paperbacks. They have mysteries about skateboarders, dirt bikes, SUV's, snowboarders, etc., not just the "older" hard cover ones that the boys on the cover look like they came straight out of the 1950's (although my DS enjoys those too, I probably would try the newer ones for a reluctant reader). Maybe there's a subject he'd be interested in.
