We had a wonderful summer, and a wonderful vacation in CA week before last. I didn't feel well coming home last Sunday, and after the ups and downs of fighting a virus all week, had a high fever all day Thurs. Went to the doc on Fri. I have pneumonia! Oy! How did that happen so fast? I really took it easy all week, pushed fluids, etc., despite it being the first week of school for my kids. (Thank goodness we'd done everything to get ready before vacation, other than organizing the many supplies into the backpacks.) I guess this was a determined bug that got me! TG for antibiotics. I'm already doing much better, but tire easily.

So, I haven't disappeared or desserted you! I'm looking forward to catching up on all I've missed, and will post as I get my energy back. Staring at a computer screen isn't great when you've had lots of headaches! I want to say "thank you" and send my appreciation to Sherrie, my fabulous co-cl, who has taken up all the slack and then-some from what I can see at a glance. Thanks, Sherrie!

Sam and Rachel are off to a happy start to 6th grade. Of course, we've only had 3 days so far ;-) But, I'll take it. They have science class together this year, so we'll see how that goes. (For newbies, S&R are boy/girl twins.) The teacher sat them alphabetically until she learns their names, so they're right next to each other! They did fine in the same math class 2 years ago, so I'm confident this will be fine, too. I'll post more later...starting to fade... ;-)

Glad to hear the kids are off to a good start. You take it easy so you'll get better! When Stephen missed the whole first week of school, it turned out he had pneumonia too. It started with that fever and coughing virus, but just didn't go away. After a week of it, Kris took him to the dr. & she said he had pneumonia! But I think it had just reached that stage. After 2 days on the ZPack, he was back in school. I hope you recover quickly!

Aww gee, shucks - wasn't a big deal. Happy to hear that you're on the mend and can actually stand to sit at the computer a little here and there. Take care of yourself!!

Best Always,

Janet, I hope you're feeling better. That really stinks to end a vacation and get sick. Happens a lot, however ... I think our bodies get in that 'relaxation' mode or something and everything that we've avoided starts to settle in. Just hope this passes quickly. Pop those vitamins and hopefully you'll have your energy back soon.

Glad the start of school has been a smooth one.
