Actually, I had to drive 46 miles in it...it was worse on the way home. I got the unofficial word within 5 miles of school, and the official word upon walking into school.

For the first time in MY lifetime, we have a school snow day!!!!

Here's some pics:

Alysha, glad you got home safely....I'm usually more scared of other drivers than myself when it snows ;-) Aly looks like she's enjoying the white stuff. I can't tell is it a couple inches? Enough to go sledding?

Anyway, enjoy ur snow day!

I would say it's at about 5-6 inches right now.

Sledding, sure...where would anyone around here get a sled??????

A garbage bag works wonders as a sled.

Okay, but don't you need hills? We're pretty flat....LOL.

Not if you have someone to push you. Although hills definately help.

LOL...well nobody will push me and I'm not pushing anyone....LOL

It stopped snowing (it might be off & on until 3pm), but it's starting to turn to slush on the driveway.

That is great.Gabby was baffled when she saw pics of Texas and I told her they had no salt trucks,so even a little amt of snow casues everything o shut down.Is this the first time Aly remembers seeing snow? You do have more than us,but it still isn't a lot.I am guessing the snow did stick to the roads.Do you have all weather tires with treads at least?I hate driving in snow and I am kind of used to it.

Why did they wait so lung to cancel with that much snow?.We close around here once we get to about 3 inches.I am sure you guys don't have snow pants or boots either. Not that Gab wears boots other than to play in the snow.At least it is a little easier to drive in the snow without hills.Pittsburgh is very hilly and I pretty much can not drive anywhere without encountering a hill.At least Aly has a day to rest and maybe catch up on her school work, without any additional work being added.
