It's SNOWING in Texas

This is too much, it was almost 80 degrees about 3:00 today, in fact I wore shorts to work this afternoon (lol, I just looked down, I still have those shorts on in fact)! It's now freezing and I swear it looks like snow, though I think it's more a mix of sleet and snow. Either way, my deck is covered in white. I know this is nothing to you guys up North, but to a Texan, it's a big treat! I have a feeling that not much schoolwork will be accomplished tomorrow! Southern kids and snow are a riot, they act like a bit of ice on a wood deck is worthy of snowshoes and a sled!!

I'll pray for you, but it shouldn't be enough to be an issue.

We'll just be excited to see the flurries!!! ;o)

I was recalling for Aly all the times it has snowed in my lifetime (yeah, it's really not hard). Since I was school-age, it has never snowed on a school day (not even flurries). I can remember one time in Feb and one time in March that it snowed on a FRIDAY night, but all the other times it has snowed, it has been over the Christmas/New Year holidays.

When I was in around 2nd grade it snowed around Christmas, it snowed before I started school, too, but I don't remember when. It also snowed in Feb '88, Dec '89, Mar '93, Dec '94, Dec '95, Jan '02, and Dec '04.

That is so funny.I am just so used to snow I am more excited when we have a winter with very little snow.I remember snow as early as Oct and as late as April or May although in both case that is pretty rare.Even though I really do not like snow.I actually love having four seasons and I would miss that a lot if I moved to a warmer climate.Altough I wish winter was shorter.

It has snowed, in my lifetime:

1973, 1985, 1988 but I don't remember it, 1993 (I was in college in Mobile for this one & we built snowmen with the stuff we scraped off the cars!); 1996, 1997, 2002, & '04.

You must be talking about the storm in late March of 93.We got 26 inches in Pittsburgh, which was the biggest snow,I remember.

I remember that... Alabama was playing in concert in New Orleans that night and I wanted to go, but I was working instead. I called Mike and told him I was coming home for "lunch" (my 30 minute lunch shift that night), and the office girl said, "No, you're not...you're not leaving this store. It's snowing outside."
