Way Back In The Day when DH and I had a puppy and she went into heat (It only happened once before we spayed her, LOL), we put some boxers of DH's on her backwards, with that opening for her tail, and used a sanitary pad in them, and then used 2 leashes to attach them to her collar

It worked for a while, LOL

Good luck with having a dog in heat!!

I know they "spot" everywhere

One of my cats went into heat before I had her spayed, and she didn't "spot" but she was totally obnoxious, sticking her butt in everyone's face and yowling

She acted like a little sl*t, LOL ;)

My DH just called our neighbors to see how their baby is doing, and they said he's asleep, thank goodness!

They came over at 11 AM this morning with their 1 year-old son SCREAMING in their arms!

My heart almost stopped, LOL

Apparently the mom was cooking, and he grabbed a bowl of very hot gravy off the counter and it dumped on him

She wanted my DH to examine him

She was totally panicked, and so was her husband, who just paced around in our foyer

Michael (DH) cleaned the baby up and the burn had already blistered on his arm and stomach, poor thing :(

Michael put some Silvadene cream on him and gave him some Children's Motrin, but I guess the Silvadene cream hurt him too, because when Michael was applying it he was absolutely SCREAMING and my neighbor was crying too, and I felt soooooo bad for her!

Michael said the baby would be OK, but he wants them to take him to his pediatrician to check on the burn in a few days, and he gave them a 'script for Silvadene

I know burns hurt SO BAD and hearing her baby scream just made me so sad

I was a little embarrassed though, because when Michael let them in, me and the kids were in our 'jamas (I still am, LOL), and Michael was in joggy pants with NO SHIRT ON

But I guess they had other things on their minds than our attire, and I'm glad Michael helped them out, they were very grateful

dyk Oh that poor baby

dyk Thank goodness he is doing okay now

dyk I'm sure the neighbors were very grateful to have a doctor right there to help

dyk I would have been a little self conscious about not being "dressed" for the day either but I'm sure that with the emergency with the baby, the parents didn't even notice what you were wearing

dyk sounds like you are getting a lot done!

dyk Darn, still have that CL hat, I tried to re-sign in and apparently it did not work, sorry again

dyk I have been having a pretty relaxing vacation and avoiding thinking about going back to work!

dyk next on my project list is re-organizing my book club's basket and reading list, I usually take on this chore once a year

dyk we have so many book titles in there, it'll take us years to read them, and we keep adding more
