DYK ITA....now its all these brands advertising (M&Ms store, Cheerios store, ESPN store etc) whereas I remember it was more the red light district w/bums sleeping on benches & streets not to mention
I can see how it you can get tired of it. I dont know if i could live that close. but once is good enough for me. I dont know if I will go back. But Im glad i went.
DYK that is so true! Since I work in DC I think nothing of seeing all the monuments & running to the museum on my lunch hr...seems every time relatives come into town I end up taking them around so its very routine & old hat so to speak

I'm also about 15-20 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean
That's what I would miss most if I moved
We lived in Baltimore when DH was in medical school, and Philadelphia when he was in residency, and they are great cities, but none of them offer what New York offers

There were a lot of teenage runaways that were prostituting there, of both genders, back in the 70's and 80's
