dyk I liked The Pact pretty well

dyk I hear that they are making My Sisters Keeper into a movie, I'm sure my book club will go to see it

dyk Right now, I am reading Little Children by Tom Perotta

dyk are you reading anything good right now?

we went over there. but we did not get to see the inside memorial or what they are planning to do. we just saw all the construction. for some reason i thought they were closer to Manhattan than that but what does a tourist know. Once we finally got over there it was really weird though. Not a place to go at night.

I never found out with Jordyn what she was, so it was kind of nice knowing ahead of time with Emma to do all the name picking, planning, etc.

dyk I've read and enjoyed a lot of Grisham and James Patterson

dyk Dh likes those also

dyk I recently read the first Twilight book and liked it a lot, I've requested the 2nd one from the library and am waiting for it

dyk Danielle Steele doesn't do anything for me.

ITA with Danielle Steele

I've found her books to be the same and lacking depth

And I usually LOVE romance

But I know she's really popular, so I must be missing something

dyk very similar and lacking depth are how they seemed to me, but there are plenty of people addicted to her books, I don't see the appeal myself

dyk sometimes I'll have someone ask me for a recommendation for a book since I read a lot, and I'll offer a suggestion

dyk they'll then tell me that they like romance like Danielle Steele and are the books I'm recommending similar but that's not really what I read

dyk I like belonging to book club because it makes me read books that I might not ordinarily choose for myself.

Thanks Adrianne.

And you need to get here sometime...it's probably halfway between you & me but totally gorgeous!

And they have a bald eagle's nest. They weren't sure yet if it could be used again after Gustav & Ike, but had been in previous years, including after Katrina which shut the park down until last year.

They have a boardwalk in the marsh area, this beach area, history hayride around the sugar mill.

It was awesome. And Brad Pitt was just there!! Some of those footprints on the beach were probably Brad's!!!! ;o)

oh, and it's not too far from you. About halfway between you & me. In Mandeville, in St. Tammany parish, right before the Tangipahoa parish line (coming from MS).

That's the Causeway (longest bridge over water in the world) in the background of the beach pics.
