Finished buying Aly's uniforms today. Also stopped by my school. I'm ready to start moving my room, but my "new" room isn't cleared out yet.

Refresh my memory.

Does she go to a private school or a uniform wearing public school?

Can you buy uniforms anywhere (like blue pants at Target) or do they have to come from a specific vendor?

Does she like or hate the uniforms?

How much variation does she get....like pants, skirts, shorts, different style tops, etc.?

She goes to a public school. All the public schools in south Louisiana wear uniforms, but it's not "private school uniforms", it's a little more generic. And each district has their own guidelines.

Our district: navy or white tops (polo, oxford, etc) and khaki bottoms. Boys are more limited, but girls have a range of bottoms to choose from: skirts (knee-length all the way down to ankles), skorts, scooters (these are 2 different things), shorts, & pants--no capris, though.

You can find uniforms all over the place, Wal-mart, Target, etc. There is an "approved" list of vendors (it's long..includes Wal-mart, Academy, and several local vendors). Target is not on the list, and neither are any mall places, but they can often find appropriate pieces at these places.

Personally, I buy everything but skorts/scooters at Academy, and buy skorts/scooters at a local vendor, simply because they have several varieties and Aly really likes them...she actually chose 3 different styles.

DYK....I think that would be nice....it is not so limited and expensive that people can't do it, and yet it is still a strict dress code. How do you think it does as far as keeping kids "equal"? (Assuming that is a big part of why they do it.)
