I know...it makes you feel old!

And the students I student-taught are entering high school (they were in 5th grade)...and my first group of students I got paid to teach are going to 10th grade!

we always have 1 or 2 "rule breakers" on free dress day. For the most part, uniforms aren't an issue--belts are an issue (they are required to wear belts with shorts & pants), and keeping shirts tucked in, but at least we're not seeing belly and all kinds of other stuff.

I did send one girl to the office for a safety pin on a free dress day for showing too much cleavage. Sad thing is, she was in my 4th hour...that means 3 other teachers didn't give it a second thought.

I agree. It is hard to have your daughter dress modestly anymore...especially with a chest with all these teeny tiny shirts that cling to you.

people complain about the costs of uniforms too! Which is ridiculous!! Wal-mart carries the clothes, and at Academy, I pay $6 for shirts & $7 for shorts/skorts & $10 for pants.

Take me to the mall and find "in-style" clothes for that price. And then, you can get away with 2 uniforms...can you get away with just 2 outfits if they could wear whatever they want?

And there are several uniform drives in our area every year to help out.
