dyk I used to love the Chocolate Eclair bars, yum yum
dyk And the ice cream pop with the chocolate candy bar in the middle
dyk Ian got one of those at the fair this weekend, and the chocolate bar inside was so tiny! Im very sure I remember it being bigger when I was a kid

DYK even tho my girls do sports I don't think any less of kids who don't....I mean some kids are more into drama club or chess club which is perfectly fine

DYK I do think sports teams are good training for real life....first, you have to work w/others (teamwork) which is what the workplace is like....yes, even if you don't like someone you still have to work w/them...second, it takes hard work to become good and third, unpleasant as it is, you don't always win but

dyk I've never had a fried twinkie, oreo or snickers bar
dyk Our fair was just the 4H fair, so it's pretty basic
dyk Kayleigh worked the entire fair but she had a good time doing it
dyk We usually do the county fair for the county across the river from us, not as large as our county fair, but a better deal, they have a POP bracelet for the rides
dyk And the yummy 4H milk shakes which somehow they don't make at the 4H fair ???
dyk I couldn't imagine having 8 kids and I have wondered what really big families transport the kids around in
dyk When I was a child, I thought I would have a big family but as an adult, I never would have considered more than 4 and really when DH and I were planning our family, we figured we'd have 3

dyk Oh my, I know those parents are out there but it's so totally not me
dyk I don't helicopter and I dont micromanage my kids
dyk I don't have a need or desire to control every moment of their life or know about every moment
dyk It's not the kids who need to learn independence, it is the parents
dyk How will the parents function when the kids go to college and there is no adult to call and check on them?
dyk I feel like if you need to call every single day, then you're not ready for your kid to go to sleepaway camp
dyk I think your kid won't die if they don't eat their vitamin and if your kid is so picky about breakfast that they will only eat one cereal, then the kid needs to decide whether she'd like to eat a cereal she isnt' thrilled with, skip breakfast or just not go to camp at all
dyk It was a 15 year old, not a 6 year old and high time to learn that life isn't all about accommodating you and sometimes things wont' be how you like them
dyk But I guess I am extreme in my views?

DYK the other thing that drives us nuts is that everyone seems to need a snack/drink schedule....that is one thing DH never does for the teams he's coached (if one of the other parents wants to volunteer to do it then fine he's ok w/that too but strangely enough nobody does lol)
