just having a terrible day...

Okay - many of you may or may not know that my DAD was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 1/2 years ago - he underwent a mastectomy and chemo and came out after treatment way better than any of us expected. Then, earlier this summer we were over at their pool having a BBQ and I asked him about the red spots on his incision (it looked like it was just angry) He hadn't even noticed them. After a recheck they found out his cancer had all come back to the same spot as it was before treatment. So they began a new series of drugs and treatment. Monday he and my mom went to see how the new treatment was going and all of his cancer is larger and there were several new growths. My dad has been amazing through all of this, never being angry and all the while he has worn a smile. I on the other hand am not doing as well. so I'm just having a terrible pity party day - do me a favor and everyone check your husbands, SO, and sons -

I am so sorry to hear your dad isn't doing well. Breast cancer runs in my family, and it is more common in men than people are aware. I hope they are able to find an effective treatment for your dad.

Thanks to all of you - I took a nap and I'm feeling a bit better now - I had a feeling that things were not going to be good - but I'll be okay - thanks for letting me vent!
