A Christmas Story is really the only Christmas movie that I love love. Although the Alastair Sim Scrooge is my favorite, but I like any version of Scrooge. The Grinch does not meet the standards of the original story, but for pure eye candy it is worth it, in that sense it is a marvel of Seussdom, you just kind of have to disregard the story. The Santa Claus is cute. Most people LOVE The Polar Express, however we found it "ok". Not fantastic as a story, although some of the animation was amazing.
We love Christmas movies - some that you didn't mention are: I'll be Home for Christmas (Johnathan Taylor Thomas) Mr. Kruger's Christmas Babes in Toyland Best Christmas Pagent Ever Home Alone (1, 2 and 3) The Preacher's Wife Charlie Brown Christmas The Christmas Gift (John Denver) Ernest Saves Christmas Jingle All the Way Little Drummer Boy Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol The Nutcracker To Grandmother's House we go (Mary Kate and Ashley Olson) and my all time favorite White Christmas
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation The Ref Trapped in Paradise (SNL movie) Christmas with the Kranks The Fourth Wise Man Veggie Tales - Star of Christmas and The Toys that Saved Christmas Mary and Joe Jack Frost One True Thing (Renee Zellweger?)
and of course there are the less obvious Christmas Movies The Mighty Simon Birch My Dog Skip Prince of Egypt Little Women
And a couple more... Muppet Christmas Carol Merry Christmas Surviving Christmas (Ben Affleck) Dreaming on Christmas Christmas with the Simpsons The 12 Dogs of Christmas (very cute) The League of Gentlemen Christmas Special Dame Edna Christmas Special (really good if you love british humor) Hercule Poirot's Christmas (very good) Christmas in Conneticut
oh and hubs said to share that National Lampoon has a 1 and 2 for Christmas Vacation!
We love 'National Lampoons Christmas Vacation'. My son has been able to quote it word for word since he was about 4 years old. We love 'A Christmas Story' too. I like the classic 'It's A Wonderful Life'.
Is christmas vacation rated pg 13? DH says Hannah can't watch it. She can watch lord of the rings but not christmas vacation. I didn't think it was that bad. Is there lots of cussing or something?
