Love it. The only thing I find a bit off is the dining room seems far from the kitchen but maybe it just looks that way. I would have thought flip the family room and dining room but that doesn't really work with the size I guess because of the foyer. Otherwise its beautiful. I'm sure

You're right! The dining room does seem far from the kitchen. I never noticed that before and I often just go online to stare at the plan, wierd I know, lol. I think it is closer than it looks. There is a door to the kitchen on the back and the dining room is right across the hallway.

Looks nice!

WE build our house from plans we got from the internet! We had them about 5 years before we got serious and actually did it!

Good luck!!!

How funny, I thought the same thing about the dining room. It looks far away from the kitchen, although that butlers pantry looks like a dream. I like that the garage leads into a mud room. It bugs me how most new homes around here you walk in straight to the kitchen. We lived in a rental house for awhile that didn't even have a coat closet on the first floor.

Just personal preference but I lived in a house where the master was next to the family room and I didn't personally care for it. I felt like I was still part of the family room, you could hear everything in each room. I didn't feel like I was getting away from the action in the family room.

I love that each bedroom has a bathroom. We have that now and it's wonderful.

Personally, I'd rather NOT have a dining room. As most, we'd use it once a year and we are a pretty informal family. I'd probably use the hearth room to have a table and chairs because I like a lot of space around the table and just have dinners in there, even with company there. But I do think that it's important to the value of the house to have a dining room. I think it'd lower the value not to have it. I think I would need a maid too, lol. I had a cleaning lady come here once a week for a few months and it was great. I ended up letting her go because I wasn't too satisified with her work. She charged me $75 a month just to clean my tiny 1400 sq ft ranch. I can't imagine how much it'd cost me to have someone clean my house if we do build this one.
