Does the middle school your ds or dd attends have recess??? Ours doesn`t and Zachary is wound up when he gets home. I was just wondering about this and what other changes from elementary school you have encountered.

Sean is still in elementary school, so he'll still have recess and I have no experience with middle schools except my own 20+ years ago - and I don't remember *that* well. However, I *do* remember that recess was something that was left behind once I was in middle school. Guess we were supposed to expend all our excess energy in gym class.

I won't know for sure for a couple of weeks, but from what I know now, there's no recess, but still daily gym and 'lunch recess', a short period attached to lunch to get the kids some exercise.

Our middle school has a 45 minute lunch recess and all of the students are required to spend at least 20 minutes of that time outside getting fresh air and some exercise!
