Kristen had her French competition this morning and if she didn't go and win the gold medal for her group. Granted there were only 2 other competitors but only the gold medal moves on to the next round. This was the semi-final in our schoolboard so now she goes on to city-wide on the 27th of March. If by some chance she wins that then we are off to Toronto for May 12 province wide. She was so pleased with herself. She couldn't wait to get back to school to show off her medal. The principal and the secretary were fawning over her and saying how proud they were. You could see her just glowing.
She was terrified last night. She was crying and saying she couldn't do it. But this morning she got up and off we went in -40 with the wind weather. She said "What if I'm first?" I'm like "No, no, there will be lots of kids, not much chance you'll be first." Ummmm, guess who was first. LOL But she did super, only stumbled once at the end a bit but recovered nicely. We were expecting up to 10 questions, she'd even memorized the definition of a gulf, new the names of all the professional sports teams, everything we could think of. The only thing they asked was "Why did you choose Texas as your subject?" and "Have you ever been there?"
