Rach didn't feel so hot this morning, her stomach was bothering her but she decided to try & go to classes. She has exams starting this Fri so I told her if she couldn't take it to call & DH would come to pick her up. She took some Pepto Bismal & a water bottle w/her so unless its more than something she ate that upset her stomach she probably would've called me by now.
Jamie has finally recovered from her bad cold she got over winter break thank goodness. The girls & us have a long wkend coming up since Monday is MLK day & Tues is Inauguration Day. My office is right next to the White House & where the swearing in ceremony is occurring so I am so glad I have the day off. The logistics of all those people downtown will be a huge challenge that I'm happy to avoid ;-)
Ran out of time this morning, so I thought I'd check in this afternoon. Need to brew some tea or something, I'm in the mood for something hot in a mug but enough coffee for the day.
Back to full steam school today, kids did fairly well, ds is being his usual slug in some ways, but seems to be making more of an effort in other ways (we had some big talks over the holidays about self motivation and hard work). Both kids started new book studies that I think we'll all enjoy, other than that, just business as usual.
We're having a belated "Christmas around the world" gathering later this week, we chose Mexico (lame and easy, cause I'm lame!), so need to get myself to the store for posterboard. Dd is telling the story of the poinsettia, ds about Las Posadas, they have all that info gathered so now just need to make the poster and an ensalada for it (already have some buenelos and some tamales). Probably butchered all the spelling in that, oh well).
I've got some pork in the crockpot, will have shredded pork on buns. I'm back on WW Core this week, so will make some brown rice for myself to serve it over. I am also making some red pepper and tomato soup that smells really yummy, it's supposed to be for lunch throughout the week but it may be a mid day snack!
Dd is working on a paper on elephants, ds has disappeared, never a good sign, he's probably reading, sigh, hate to nag him about that but he hasn't finished his spanish or his chemistry!
Later all.
