Well, its very boring at work today. Tomorrow is Canada Day so there are very few of us in today as most people took a long weekend. I'm playing my tunes louder than I normally would and not doing much else.
I took Kristen to a friend's house this morning. She is spending the day and I'll pick her up. But other than that we don't have much planned. Although it seems we were invited to a friend's for Canada Day so I should probably go and pick up something to take with us if we go. The stores will be nuts because everything is closed tomorrow. Oh well.
I think that it is fine asking him to add something to his shoes,if you planned on spending $50 it is cool asking him to make up the difference or having him help around the house to earn money to pay for the shoes.I am assuming he will wear the tennis shoes most everyday,in that case spending the $$$ would not be as painful.I hate spending $$$ on sneakers for Gabby because she hates to wear them unless she has too and she will not wear them to school daily. We did find her a pair of Nike for $50 that she liked.Unfortunatly $50 seems pretty standard for sneakers now,in fact that is on the cheap end.We ask Gab to add money to certain things.Mostly she will earn it helping around the house.Last week she helped dh weed the yard with on of those spray weed killers and dh forgot to tell her to turn it off when walking across the lawn,so now we have a nice little patch of dead grass;-),good thing dh is not picky about our lawn as long as it is cut.Gab also wanted the guiter hero for her ds.I paid $30 she added $20.You only have so much to spend.I suppose with a boy you might be able to "skimp" on clothing somewhere else.Anther factor would be are his feet done growing,if not you may end up getting shoes in a month or two and in that case that is a lot of money.I also do not spend that much for my shoes.Gabby usually talks my mom into the expensive shoes, but they are usually heels not sneakers.Gab was telling me about sneakers she wanted for $60,I kind of agreed until I found out they were canvas, not going to happen for canvas shoes.

I was busy at work today, but at least the day went by fast.
Good Morning,
I don't think you were unreasonable telling your son that you would pay a certain amount and the rest would be his responsibility.
