I know the boards will probably be pretty quiet this week with the holidays and all, but I'll still do daily chat thread. How was everyone's holiday weekend? I hope everyone had a nice one. What is on the agenda for today?

Well, jordyn is already up and out the door. She is working 9-3 today. We had plans for my brother and DH to take DSS and Emma to the park and play today, but it's pretty cool and rainy, so I don't know if they'll still do that or we'll find something else to do. DSS has to be to the airport by 2:00. I am hoping to get to home depot to get some wood to finally start that mantle i've been waiting on, as well as a few oher things.

Have a great day!

We are having a slow moving morning. DH is still asleep, DS, Fermi and I just woke up. We had a great weekend.

Highlights

DS loudly announcing after present opening, "Thank you, I'm so indulged! ( it was very cute)

Waffles (whole wheat) with ice cream and fresh fruit on top for breakfast the 25th

Grandma being able to play Outburst with us after seveal years of not joining in- her hearing aids are working well:smileyhappy:

My mom crying when she looked through her photo book I made for her

DH surprising me with a small but thoughtful gift-he's a horrid gift giver but this time I saw the effort

Visiting the city's light display with the puppy

Playing new games under the tree

DH cleaning up wrapping paper and boxes

Could have done without moments:

DS finding out about Santa- while he took it in stride, he is sad that " he hasn't been touched by magic' He believes ( believed?) so strongly in the existence of magic and whimsy... I'm sad he lost some of that childhood wonder

Mom's brunch-it didn't turn out well, but she tried

DS coming downstairs late one night and seeing DH and I in the act under the tree

Today is back to normal for us. DS is currently playing with his dsxl.

Hi everyone. Checking in late here. It has been a lazy couple of days. Had dinner with the whole family last night...MIL made arrangements to have a turkey and a ham with all the fix in's delivered here and one of my SILs and I heated all of it up and we hosted dinner last night. This morning DH and I just relaxed, I finished reading Heaven Is For Real (again), then the whole family we tout to lunch at this place where the restaurant is built out on a pier in the ocean. The water is crystal clear and lovely and we had a great time watching the fish. We made a stop at the grocery store and came back to our place and spent some time at the pool. I am not quite sure what is on the agenda for tomorrow. I think we're going to this town called He'll just so we can say we've been there; ). And I have volunteered to cook dinner for everyone tomorrow night. The ils bought the groceries and I really like to cook, so it should be fun. Wednesday we are going to Stingray City and at some point we are either going to swim with the dolphins or go parasailing. right now the kids are with another SIL and they are going snorkeling. I sent them with a waterproof camera and DS is a fairly decent photographer, so hopefully he will get some good underwater pics.

You're in the Caymen Islands! Somehow I missed that. What a fun holiday. Glad you're having such a great time.

You're in the Carmen islands wendy! I wouldn't expect you to check in at all, in fact, I am hoping when I go this summer on a much needed vacation, part of the time alone, I am hoping not to see a computer for a few days!

Hi All, Holiday weekend was good. Inlaws arrived noonish on Saturday. We went out to lunch, ran errands, had dinner here - my niece came also. She brought the kids a refurbished laptop.

Sunday, we opened gifts, the inlaws arrived 11-ish and we spent the day and had a ham dinner and gelato pie for dessert.

Today, the inlaws didn't arrive til noon.
