I ave the day off and the girls are off of school.  Jordyn had a cheer competition and isn't getting home til around midnight (Sunday), so she'll be sleeping late and then cleaning her bathroom and doing homework before she goes into work at 4:30.  I am taking Madison to daycare, thwn Emma and I to the chiropractor and home for a bit to clean and get groceries.  I promised Emma lunch out probably IHOP, and then we are going to see the 3D movie Flight of the Butterflies at the IMAX at the Texas History Museum.  After that we'll go pick up Madison a bit early and I'll make dinner.   Not sure what the main course is yet, but I am n trying a new recipe of cheesy cauliflower bites as a side.

have a great day!

It is snowing.  Just enough to make it slippery,  but not enough to enjoy it.  Such a weird winter.  I still have Zeph's snow gear in the shipping bags from Lands End becasue if he doesn't get to use it, I'm returning it.  I told him that next winter ( if we don't get snow here) we'll look into doing a vacation up North to play in the snow.  As much as I dislike it, he loves it!

Some school this morning and then he and I are off to his commputer class.  I've got to say for FREE, this has been a great intro class. There are only four students which allows for some great one on one attention.  I think today is all about Power Point and Excel.  I don't know much about either.  Once we get home, I have a ton of cleaning to do and he's got some more schoolwork.

DInner is potstickers, brown rice and beef with broccoli.

Sounds like some fun one on one time!  If your cauliflower bites turn out, would you please share the recipe?

Hi everyone. It's a day off for the kids and me. I slept late (yay!),am meeting a friend for lunch, then doing some errands.  I'm supposed to take Ian out for an ice cream or dunkin donuts later on. I should work some more on FAFSA and hope to spend a relaxing evening reading and turning in early.  I'm expecting a rough week ahead.

Ian is studying and playing his instrument and working on his 4H presentation today.  Kayleigh is mostly studying as it's midterms week and she was out all weekend with the play and related festivities.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a smooth start

Afternoon!  I sleptlate.  No school today and so we all slept late, even Tim.  He went in towork for a few hours and then came home.  He has two of the kids busy working outside.  They are taking down our trehoue we built for them when they were littlier.  It's sad to see it come down.  I loved it and he did a good job on it.  But it's time has come to an end.  So, I am finally taking the tree down.  I am stuck right now though, I need Tim or Matthew to take the star off so I can demantle the tree and put it in it's box.  Natalie got herself into trouble due to her mouth, putting her project first before some chores Tim had given her.  She got mouthy and so he sent her to her room.  Just what she wanted!  Told him so but he denied it, he just won't see it that way.  Not sure what the rest of the day will bring.  Tim always stirs things up with the kids and makes them all mad at him and I hate it.  If he went about it in a less snippy way he'd get what he wanted but he starts right off with voice raised and on defense.  Like that works real well.  Dinner, hmmm.....well, not sure.  Maybe soemthing simple.  We had a nice dinner last night, big.  I think a simple one is in order tonight.

Heather, they were a little more work than I prefer on a weeknight, but since I didn't work and was home a little earlier than usual I made them. I thought they were excellent. I was a little skeptical at first, and I used coconut oil in the pan for the first half, and they stuck to the pan quite a bit, but we also use cast iron pans. I used olive oil the second batch and they didn't stick as badly. The little girls were eh about them. Madison ate a few bites, Emma didn't like them, but she's gotten very picky lately with food. I'll be interested to hear what Jordyn says about them when she gets home. DH and I each had three of them. Here is the recipe: http://whatsfordinner-momwhatsfordinner.blogspot.com/2012/10/cheesy-cauliflower-bites.html?m=1
