Morning.  Matthew ran a fever all weekend so I am taking him in to see the doctor today. Try to get these kids all better and stop missing school.  This is so crazy, we've never had a flu season like this.  I'ts been ridiculous. I recieve som great news Friday evening just as I was about to start dinner.  I got the phone call that I was their choice for the position, I GOT THE JOB!!  This job is exactly what I have prayed for for years.  I knew one day it would drop in my lap and is basically did.  I took a few steps so that it could by letting my church know I was looking.  Through there prayer chain word got around and I was seeked out for this job.  I just cannot not believe how it's exactly what I have always wanted.  I am excited.  I will go in after the kids are in school and come home before they get out.  This could very well be my last week as a stay at home mom.  They still need to work out some of the finer points before I can start.

I am going to try my hand making the kids some chocolates for valentines day.  My mom gave me a small candy or ice tray of hearts.  About 20 on the try.  I am going to melt some cherry chips and then place some chocolate or white chocolate behind the cherry, making two layers of flavors.  I will take pics.  I am also making a heart shaped cake for them.  They don't know any of this.  For dinner I am ordering them pizza that is heart shaped.  LOL  All for Thursday.  Tim and I have a date that night so I am setting the kids up with all my heart.  LOL  So I start prepping today.  I also need to clean a cat box.  Yuck!  Kitchen floor needs to be cleaned too.  I need to get things ready for mom not being home all day anymore.  The kids will need to pick up the slack.

Dinner will be spaghetti and a salad.

Turns out I only needed a weekend to pull myself together.  Winter is challenging for me emotionally.  My body craves the sun and warmth and fresh air.  DH took over this weekend as far as chores and I relaxed and focused on some unfinished projects and while pretty disengaged from family. I needed the time for me.  After looking over DH's travel schedule and when we could be all free for any length of time, we decided on a vacation to Tuscon and then a visit to see MIL/FIL in Mesa.  I see the contradiciton of my panic about MIL visiting me but a willingness to visit them.  They would be absolutely crushed if we were in the area and did not see them.  I've got one day planned while we are with them and MIL is welcome to join us on that excursion.  I'm waiting to hear back from the dog sitter and 2 B&Bs to firm up dates, but we have attractions all worked out and I am eager to start buying advanced tickets and  researching restaurants.  Just the promise of warmth boosted my spirits.  We have narrowed it down to 2 cruises for 2014 which will hopefully be a pre-emptive strike for the winter blahs next year.  It feels so good to have money set aside for a vacation.  A couple of years ago we'd need to be scrimping to take a trip.  It's nice to see that we're in a new place financially.  Hoping we can still do DC or Disney this fall, but we'll see it gets closer.

Today is a ton of school.  Laundry and dishes too. Maybe some ironing.   I need to go get beef stroganoff in the crockpot and cook chicken for homemade soup.  Tonight I'm going to start watching season one of The Good Wife.

Congrats on the job.  Hope it is just what you wanted. I thought it was a university not a chuch.  Were there 2 you were interviewing for?  I'm sure your kids can pick up the slack.  They are old enough to own their chores without being reminded.  Also they should understand that now is the time for you to do something for yourself and they can help you be successful by doing their part at home.

Congratulations on the job!

And I agree, the kids are old enough to be taking on responsibility at home.  Your son is a freshman in HS right?  If so, he's only got a few more years until college (if he goes away to live).  And Kristen has told me stories about boys at school who have NO CLUE how to do anything (like taking care of their own laundry)

The next time Becca says she wants to have 18 kids over, and then let 10 of them stay the night- remind me of this last weekend LOL. Though I have to admit- it was a whole lot cheaper to do a sweet 16 party this way. She wanted the whole rent a hall, have a DJ, feed people party and I can bet we would have paid a whole lot more than $100 for that. They were good. There was 1 boy who decided to flirt with a freshman (he's a junior) got a little too "close" for our liking, so dh and I got to stay downstairs for the very loud part of it. When they had the Wii going, Becca's iPod blasting One Directon, and 3 very loud boys (and 15 loud girls). Someone managed to break an end table. The girls said it was one of the girls accidentally kicking it when they were sleeping. The way it broke- I think someone (a large boy probably) sat on something he/she shouldn't have. It wasn't an expensive table, and dh managed to fix it I need to go to the store. And we got the check for the loan we took out to pay for the hot water system (so hate digging into the 401K, but it had to be paid for somehow) so I need to go to the bank. Becca's got rehersal tonight. Dinner is chicken soup. cheryl

I am home with Emma again today, I thought DH had a day full of work, but it's noon and he's still here. I took the girls to the chiropractor then Madison to school and then Emma and I went to the grocery store. I unpacked the groceries, started a load of laundry. I am going to clean and go over my menu plan one last time and do some dinner prep. I do have to log I to work email and finalize a project real quick. Jordyn has work and practice tonight, hopefully she is a little less grouchy today than last night. Dinner is Italian chicken and ricotta and spinach roll ups and green beans and I am going to roast the spaghetti squash for tomorrow night's dinner.

Sorry if my post was confusing.  I let my church know I was looking for a job, they in turn put me on a prayer chain.  In a way it got the word out I was looking. This lady knew my mom and thru my mom contacted me about this job at the University.

Matthew has seen the doctor.  He has a sinus infection. She gave him some meds and can return to school tomorrow unless he runsmamfevermagain today at some point.
