Yes it is Heather. It was not like this when I first started the job, in fact I lived almost twice as far away the first 6 months we lived down here in Texas and my commute wasn't as long, but population wise it has exploded in this area and they don't seem to have a good long term solution for traffic yet and its just making for a miserable commute.

I'm sorry it didn't work out.  A three hour commute is crazy!

Mindy, did she decide on her first choice or the second choice that she liked after her overnight visit?

Hi everyone. I spent the day feeling exhausted, I didn't get much sleep last night.  The work day was pretty calm.  The kids had regular school days and Kayleigh stayed after for science club.  I ran to Kohls after work with Ian hoping to get him socks and a pair of dress pants with my kohls cash, but nothing was the right size so I got a pair of earrings for myself instead.

Kayleigh got her acceptance letter to her final college, so she was accepted to every school she applied to. This last one was a bit of an academic stretch for her.  Tomoorrow I'll be signing the papers and writing out the deposit check to the school that she'll be attending. Suddenly everything feels very real.

Went right to bed after dinner.  The cashew pesto was good but I broke the blender making it so clearly we won't be having that or any other blender food soon

Hey ladies, I have been going all day trying to,get thing done.  Tim seems a bit down.  I feel bad for him, he lost a brother this past weekend.  We are heading out in the morning at about 9 or so.  I need to pack and will be doing that after I wake the kids.  Katie will be going to school to work on a project with a friend and we will pick her up there. I have given the Bon Jovi tickets to one of my best friends. She will get them from my neighbor. Took Matthew to the doctor to he if he needed any meds before we left for Michigan and because of pain in his lower right side she wanted to make sure his apendix wasn't becoming inflamed. All is well.  I need to pick up his meds at the pharmacy in the morning.  Finished getting the girls outfitted for a funeral.  Washing clothes now and cleaned the kitchen.  Matthew fell asleep before dinner and slept until about 9:30. Got up for a bit, fixed a pizza and now is going back to bed. Got some cleaning g done with this house. Y'all have a good week and maybe I can check in when possible.

Sat in the shop for a little over an hour getting the van inspected.  I was kind of concerned that we'd need to put major bucks into it, but the bill came out to less than $100.  That was nice.  There's a few things that need to be watched on it.  I would like for it to run fairly well for another 2 years until Becca's done with high school.  One of the guys at the shop said that his parents had a Venture that ran for 300,000 miles!  That would be nice LOL.  Ours has 126,000 on it, I'd be happy for it to make 200,000.

So this afternoon, the cat's going over to the vet for shots.  She's not going to be happy.  Trying to fit in these little errands that need to be done during the week while I still have the time.  I filled out an I-9 for Pearson on Friday, I start there on the 18 for the 1st project that lasts a month.  I'm kind of hoping it'll be a little longer than that.  The other big project that I've done the last 2 years I was told that they lost- but maybe they got something else in it's place.

I got an email for an open house tomorrow at another company.  Thing is- I can make more in the short-term with Pearson than this other place, so I think I'll keep that job.  For now.  I've gotten a couple of emails from them about open houses (it's with a bill collection agency- and though I could do that job- not so sure how much I really want to do that) that they seem to have every month or so.  So we'll see.

Someone has to get Kristen on Friday.  Not sure who yet.  Dh has had a whole lot of work piled on him.  And I know of 2 days I'm going to need him here b/c Becca has something and I won't be home in time to get her there.  Weather channel said Lynchburg could get anywhere from 6-14 inches of snow on Weds.  And though I think that area handles snow a bit better than we do- don't want any surprises either.  Kristen does want to come home though :)

{{hugs}} Tracy.  I'm sorry the meeting with your old boss didn't go as well as you hoped.

Thanks for asking Heather, yes it was the one that I was hoping would let me go home and work from home very soon. Unfortunately it didn't go as well as I had hoped. He has someone doing work for him right now, he needed some stuff done and I was unavailable to do it working where I work and a conflict of interest, and she is currently knee deep with his tax stuff and he doesn't want to make a change right now. I completely understand and am half kicking myself, and half just wondering if this is the sign that I just need to sit tight for now and get things done. I know that financially its a better situation to stay where i am at for the time being, but every other aspect of it isn't, the 3+ hours of commuting every day, the stress, the little time I have with the kids in the evenings, etc. I am just trying to suck it up and deal with things as they are with the best possible attitude I can for the next few months til we make a final decision on a few things. I am not thrilled, but it is what it is for now.

How did your lunch with your old boss go?   Was this the lunch to decide if you would work from home?

Good morning!  I was able to log in on the first try with IE! Hope that is a sign of progress on iVillage's part and not another glitch.

I was suppose to meet a friend for breakfast, but she called and cancelled.  Her life in one traumatic event after another.  It's hard to read between the lines as to what is a real problem and what is not.  Sadly I think there are some serious issues going on with her teen daughter that she is unwilling to consider and I am unsure if I should say something or not.  If I met this friend now we would not be friends as her life is such a mess that I hardly see the glimmer of her anymore.  It's sad to watch a family fall apart.

Zeph is working on school.  He's got a pretty full day today.  DH is home!  He came home sick and is feeling better but still not 100%.  He's got an easy couple of work at home days.  I'm pretty caught up around the house.  I'm going to relax today before the MIL is coming vibes set in.  She'll be here Friday.
