Hi all. Happy Monday. It was a pretty busy day at work, but not a bad day. I got to cover for our teacher for an hour, yay, money!  Kayleigh had a regular school day, then science club and is now out biking. HOpefully she gets back in time for dinner. Ian had a regular school day.

No one has anything going on tonight.  I have some odds and ends to take care of, and of course, Dancing With the Stars.  Making pasta with spinach, broccoli and garlic :)

Completely hear you Cheryl! BTW I thought of you a few weeks ago. I went out on the patio and noticed a few boards were "rotting" away and upon further examination saw a trail of ants or what I thought was ants, marching up the wood! I had a heart attack remembering previous discussions of termites! We did eventually find out that they are acrobat ants that nest in rotted away wood, and that the slope on our outside porch ceiling was not done correctly and does not drain properly, leading to wood rot in the beams. Lovely... So we are waiting on an estimate to see what it'll cost us to replace the entire structure.

No bug guy yet.  Grrrrrr.  I may have to make a phone call.......

And yeah Tracy- I have my opinions on this whole standardized testing thing too.  But I'll keep my big mouth shut :x  Especially since what I just made was enough to pay off one of my student loans :)  It wasn't much, but just enough that I was really tired of having it hanging over my head.

Cheryl, yes, the do SPED standardized testing here in Texas also, its accommodated to their specific disabilities. And yes, its a huge market and Pearson is the main go to company. I won't voice my opinions on it here though... Sorry you don't qualify for the summer job, I hope you find something else that works for the family!!

Can you believe 13?  It snuck up on me.  Zeph's brithday is also in May.  He chose a trip over a party.  I don't know when we are going though. We were suppose to go the week after the history bee, but I can't afford 14 days of pet care ($800ish).  We might have to postpone it until school is out, but we dislike crowds. It might have to wait unitl fall.  I'm deciding on what big gift to buy

Zeph is finishing up school for the morning.  Then we're off to the post office and library.  Then we are meeting a friend and his mom for lunch and going to an exptreme trampoline place for some much needed PE.  It is gorgoeus out, but many of the parks are still a flooded or soggy mess.  Tonight may or may not be tennis.  They have yet to hold class due to weather and I am unsure if it is even running now.  I'll be watching for an email this afternoon about the fate of the class.   I hope Zeph won't over do it today.  He got his first sound night's sleep in few days and hasn't coughed yet this morning.  Dinner wil ldepend on whterh tennis happening or not.  Either grilled cheese and tomato soup or homemade breakfast buritos.

Good morning.

Waiting for Terminix.  We have termite damage in 2 rooms, so they did a damage report and I guess they're going to fix it.  And they're also going to re-treat the outside of the house- again.  I hate termites, but am very glad we do have a contract with a company- even if it's $300/year.

Temp job ended Sat.  I think I signed up for one more project that I can do in May.  It's hard- they do a lot of scoring for Special Ed students (did you know they have state standardized testing as well) but in order to work any of those projects you need a teaching/Special Ed degree.  Sigh.  Until I started working for Pearson, I had no clue that standardized testing was as huge of a business as it is.  The trainer that came from OH was trying to get as many of us to apply for a scoring director position- I guess Pearson got this huge contract and needs people.  But the ad that was posted on site said they preferred someone with an education degree- and I think experience with ESL/ foreign language.  Sigh.  If they'd take me just on the fact that I've done stuff for them now 3 years in a row I'd be fine.

If the bug guy shows up at a decent time- there's an application for a special needs summer camp that I want to run by the company's  office.  It doesn't pay much- it's the entire summer.   And I figured maybe showing my face there might give me an edge LOL.

It could get my foot in the door for a direct care job in one of their group homes.  Second shift isn't my first choice- but with Becca having her licence in a few months and Kristen out of the house dh said we could make it work.  Heaven knows we made this last crazy month work LOL.

Bay youth rehersal tonight.  That Becca hasn't been to in 2 weeks.  She can't miss any more, or they might not let her play in this last concert.  It is kind of a moot point since she's already made the decision to drop this for next year, so seating auditions tonight  don't really matter (they're tying them into being able to return to the same orchestra next year).  But we paid for tickets for this last concert, she's paid in full for the rest of this year, so I'd like her to play (even though she is done with the entire organization LOL)  So dinner is leftover whatever you want.

Morning.  I am just dragging a bit this morning.  Mathew was too but he got right up and got himself going.  I made chocolate chip pancakes for the kids this morning and it was appreciated.  I have started my thought about the girls 13th birthday.  13 is a huge deal so I want to make them feel extra special.  I am planning for some of thier long time friends from elementary school they hardly hang out with to meet us at this local outdoor mall that they want to go and buy them all pizza and maybe see a movie.  Kinda of a surprise for them.  They are still friends with all of them but since they are in MS now they have seperated and hardly ever hang out together anymore.  I miss this group and I can tell Natalie does so I want to get them all together.  I talked to one of the young ladies on Friday about it and she was loving the idea and plans to talk to a few other friends about it.  Told her is was a surprise to not let Katie and Natalie know.  She loves the idea.  Anyway, so I started that this weekend.  Tim got back last night just in time for dinner.  We will be having out typical quiet evening with homework and chores.  After work I am running by the store to grab Katie some deoderant.  Not soemthing I can wait and grab when I have other things to get unfortunately.  She didn't realize how low hers had gotten.

Dinner will be hamburgers and corn on the cob.

Good morning ladies.  Emma's party went well on Saturday and then I spent the rest of the weekend resting and cleaning up.  My sinuses are all screwed up and I have a terrible headache, but oh well.  My normal monday morning meeting was cancelled.  I have a few projects to work on today.  I am working through lunch so I can leave early as DH and I have paperwork to sign for our refinance of the house this evening.  I am waiting on the person to call me and set up an exact time they are coming.  I'd like to try and get a chiropractor appointment in on the way home, but we'll see what happens.  Not sure what's for dinner, I didn't get any grocery shopping in this weekend.  If I have time, I"ll stop and pick up a rotisserie chicken on the way home.

Have a good one!
