Irked my neck yesterday... Jordyn is working camps today and then her normal shift in the evening so she is going to be exhausted and probably a little grumpy tonight. DH has a full day on his plate already, but he mentioned something about lunch, so we'll see how that turns out. I don't have anything on the schedule right now, a bunch of little projects to work on, and we're either having a bacon spinach quiche tonight or chicken and dumplings, depends on what I feel like when I get home from work. I have a ton of paperwork to do for DH, but he didn't leave it for me this weekend. So I will probably be up late doing that. :0(

I'm waiting to hear about DH's plans for the day before I figure out my day.  The cleaning is easier to do with one less person in the house.

I finally decided on, booked, and paid for a hotel in Charleston and called for our island camping permit.  I did some training with the dog for his Olympic events Saturdaypeanut butter lick. obedinece baseball, and musical hula hoops.  He can do it well in the house, but don't know what to expect when I add in 10 other dogs...

Zeph and I are about to tackle math, grammar, and Greek/Latin roots.  I still need to shower so we'll see what the afternoon holds.

Why does it feel like when we stay home and do nothing- nothing gets done?

I did laundry.  Kristen did laundry.  Becca had the BF over for a while.

Both kids informed me that they don't want to go to the IL"s next week.  Oh well- we're going.  I don't want to go either.  Dh had a conversation with MIL yesterday.  While we had friends over here.  "Well- we're leaving from the wedding and staying in either Dayton or somewhere along the way home.  We are NOT driving 3 hours to spend the night at your house.  To which I heard MIL say "I understand.  But- I really wanted you to come out the next week b/c the family reuinion (that nobody really goes to anymore) is on Sunday and etc, etc, etc".  So glad dh "stood up" to her and told her no.  There's been times that he's gone along with what she says to "keep peace in the family".

Well- Kristen has to be at college on the 17th in order to attend orchestra camp, since they're playing at convocation that next Tuesday.  I'm kind of hoping that we don't have to go back there until parent's weekend- end of Sept.  We could do it over Labor Day weekend if she forgets something.  But the better prepared she is when we leave- the less of a chance she's going to leave an "important" item here.  And that means not rushing home the night before she has to leave- and then getting up early the very next day to drive 3 hours to school (and we basically pass right by it on the way out to the IL's).

End of IL rant.  Going to make chicken for dinner.  Need to find out if people need me to go to the store or not.

Hi all, 24 hours with Evan home and all is going really well! He's been great about doing what I ask (I've tried to keep it to a minimum) and I've been much more relaxed about dealing with him. He's at the beach with friends at the moment. I'll probably pick him up late, late afternoon, make a quick to the store to pick up lunch necessities and then do lemon linguine for dinner. Sooo easy juice from 2 lemons, zest from one, green onion, parsley, olive oil, and Parmesan cheese.

Update on dh's job situation. His boss (the guy who sent the buying firm an email full of profanity and remarks about their professionalism) is gone sometime in the next two weeks! Dh met with the buying firm to talk transition and logistics over the weekend and it looks like he's going to be the new head honcho. Not sure what the timetable is but the sooner the better... They haven't talked compensation yet but assuming it's what the current guy is making, it's not fabulous but it will allow us to live at a much less stressful level. Dh just wants the whole process over with and wants to move on. The buying firm is going to move the ofice about 15 minutes from our house. Much better than the hour plus commute and associated parking/train fare. We just need to find a way to take care of some ouf our immediate debt. Not much time to do this and I'm not sure where the money is coming from but other things seem to be falling into place so I'll continue to work on it under the assumption that it will.

Ami that is wonderful on both accounts! So glad Evan has come back with a few new attitude and you also, I hope it continutes into the new school year! And yay for DH, heck even if he's getting paid on time every paycheck will be a big improvement in general, and I'm sure the extra time he gets from less commute and the costs associated with it will be a big plus for you also!

Hi all, very tired after the whirlwind trip to Chicago. Left here Friday morning, landed mid afternoon. Friday evening, went to a wedding eve open house at my nephew's apartment, then some of us went out for a drink at a swanky hotel bar.

Saturday morning, some members of the party walked down to Navy Pier and we saw my nephew's show, Beauty and The Beast (he's the set designer). Went to lunch at PF Chang's with my niece.  The wedding was Saturday night, it was artsy and fun.

Sunday, I had breakfast with some of my family and then took the train to waukeegan to visit with a friend for the afternoon. After a hectic couple of flights, one of which I was afraid I'd miss, I landed at 11:30 pm. 1:30 in the morning, Delta called to say that they'd found my wallet on the plane. Oooops.

Today, exhausted after just a few hours of sleep (which is all I've gotten in several nights).  Went to work, got my car inspected, getting ready to head back to airport to p/u wallet and then food shopping. the house is a wreck but I really need to come home, relax and go to bed early.

The rest of the family was at the 4H fair for the weekend. Ian left yesterday for his two weeks away - one week on a canoe trek, next week at scout camp, not coming home in between.

Kayleigh is at work today, this is her last week.

As long as Kristen has done her part with her loans (and she has assured me she has)- school got the check I sent out on Friday.  This semester's paid for.  Yay!

And she SO needs to leave LOL.  Yeah we're going to miss her, but she just needs to leave and try out living on her own for a while.

I am late again.  I had a rotten night.  Slept bad.  I feel ick and sleepy.  Not sure I can wrap my thoughts around anything if I really need to.  Tim call me this morning telling me this guy needed to come measure our attic unit and he'd let me know when they were coming.  So, they show up at almost 1pm and I had no idea who they were.  LOL  No marked truck or shirts.  They had to tell me why they were there.  I was like OH!  Alright.  Sorry my husband was suppose to call and let me know when ya'll were coming and he didn't.  So they hang out for maybe half an hour at the most and leave.  Kids and I run errands.  While we were out Tim arranged for them to come fix right away.  I am glad but he should have made sure we were home first before doing that.  They got here and ended up calling him to let him know we weren't there.  He had to run home and let them in.  So we get home just as they are getting started obviously.  Tim went back to work and I was left to pay they guy.  I felt so bad, it was so hot up there.  So the upstairs air is fixed and it's cooling off up there again.  YAY!  I may meet with my fellow coach to plan our strategy for coaching tonight or tomorrow night.  Not sure when.

Dinner is slow cooked BBQ'd pork roast, baked potatoes, corn on the cob and rolls.  YUM!!
