Good morning!

I started the day feeling really crappy (worried about finances, as usual)...but then I found 2 substitute assignments about an hour ago, so I'm feeling a little better!

Nothing really planned today--I'm gonna sit here @ this computer & pounce on every sub assignment I can get!

Thanks to Kelly (mom2emsopmax) for my beautiful siggy! Photobucket

Getting ready to run out to the post office & maybe take a walk afterwards. Its quiet here in the office & partly cloudy so maybe that's why the girls didn't want to get up this AM to go to school. Rachel was up late studying for her Chinese test but she also had lax practice Sun at 8-10am so maybe that contributed. After her practice was over she shared some sad news w/me.

One of her teammates whose mom has been battling cancer for ~3 yrs passed away Sat night. Her teammate told Rachel matter of factly but I know it must've been hard. Rachel said to me in the car that it wasn't like I knew her mom well, which is true, but then we knew her on a casual basis & saw her yearly since she also coached rec teams in the local lax program the girls played in.

Oh wow Ang! That makes me so sad to read. I feel for Rachel's friend. I cannot imagine losing my mother now let alone as a 12yo. Does she have other siblings?

My prayers go out to her and her family and Rachel as she seeks to comfort her friend in this time.

ohhhhh! That just makes my heart ache! That poor family! My prayers are with them.

My day has been pretty ho-hum. Cleared TONS of paper clutter (old bills, etc.) from the family room and did two loads of laundry (two more to do). Had an appointment with the optometrist this afternoon. My script changed a little so I got new contact lenses. They're supposed to let more oxygen into your eyes too. A little on the expensive side but eyesight is not something to mess with!

Tonight Megan has Girls on the Run and musicianship (music theory) and Evan has swim practice for 2 hours. Pesto chicken for dinner - way easy... put pesto on the bottom of a baking dish, put the chicken breasts on top, cover the chicken with more pesto and then cook for 35-40 minutes. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and then bake for another 5 minutes. Yummmm!
