Morning all. Nothing too exciting here. I have parent council tonight. Our last one of the year. I'm a bit annoyed because I got a message last night telling me that the staff appreciation lunch is Wed. and we can drop our desserts off at the school. Ummmmm. Can't do that. I guess I'll run out after work and buy something and take it with me tonight. Not very creative but no time for anything else. Otherwise just another hot day and our week is going to get hotter and hotter. Will be close to 100 or over with the humidity by Friday. ICK! Too hot for me.
Well, I guess I'll be cleaning my house today as we are NOT going out if we can help it. The heat index is supposed to be 109º today! Yesterday, at 5:30 pm, it was 106º. I don't ever remember June getting this hot before, at least not early/mid June!!!
Oh, and I have a bunch of trash to put out, too. We cleared out the attic completely. Got 6 banana boxes of junk into 3 storage containers so when we put them up, they'll be in enclosed plastic containers instead of kind of open, falling apart cardboard. Then, I found an old house antenna (not allowed in our subdivision), carpet, and a couple of motors that we have no idea what they are for.
Sorry I haven't checked in for a few days...last week was hectic and we ran all weekend. Also, since we have high-speed now, I have been looking at all the zoo cams, etc. that we weren't able to see before! LOL
I only have 2 kids today, sibs, 2.5 yo and 8 yo, so things are pretty quiet around here. The food program lady came by today (unannounced) and I did fine. We talked for a long time and I got alot of my questions answered and some things ironed out.
We're having pork chops on the grill, scalloped potatoes and green beans for dinner tonight.
Ugh, had a whiny morning with older DD. She does not like carpooling, but too bad! I can't figure out her moods...she is so moody. I am waiting on hold with the county right now to find out if I'm getting child support this month! Ex last paid in April. He has excuses a mile long. I wish they would take some action against him, it's getting later and later...and I need to work extra if this is going to become a habit. Walked down to the grocery store...it's getting hot here...probably 80's today, better than 100 Tam! you better get into that redneck pool! I know what you mean about schools planning things during the day...luckily i work evenings, my DD 5th grade ceremony is Wed. at 9am! I do feel for the day shift working parents when schools do this. I work today...we are slow...so that is good and bad, considering I work with sick babies.
The day is almost over. I thought I'd check in anyway. I did this and that today. Tonight we are going to have leftovers for dinner and watch, "The Karate Kid."
We weren't supposed to be going anywhere today--according to my kitchen calendar. However, at 2pm, I noticed on our events calendar that we had a program at the library at 2:30. The library is about 25 minutes away...lol. We made it just after she was introduced, so we didn't miss anything. Aly was the first volunteer called up, so that was pretty cool. It was a musician/storyteller from New Orleans that we've seen several times at different libraries, Aly's school, and the book festival. She's awesome!!
Now, we're home, and Mike just called. He left his wallet at home, so I'll need to go bring it to him.
I am here at work moving right along. I have end of the month to finish but I am here for now. Not much else to do. take care.
