I yell upstairs. But there is only two of us. I don't have time to run up and down. I usually only have to do it once, rarely more. And its just a matter or me yelling up the time, after that she's pretty much on her own. I would do the same if it was my husbnd.
Both DH and I leave for work before Jordyn gets up or goes to school, so she is totally in charge of getting up, ready, and on the bus. We used to live close to the school and she could walk if she missed the bus, but now we live quite a ways out. So she knows if she misses the bus she has no way to school and is in a heap of trouble. I've never had any problems with her getting up and ready for school.
In fact, she gets up almost a half hour before me. And usually she is standing downstairs with her coat on when I come rolling down the stairs ready to leave.
Kinda new to the board too. I've been here before but then things got hectic so I havent had time to post.
Usually my husband is the one who gets all the kids ready for school. I am out working at the time. However if my son needs to be at school early and he has to go with me, I usually get him up and make sure he is dressed and downstairs before I get up. So he has time to get dressed and stuff while I am getting ready and on my way downstairs I make sure he comes down with me.
My daughter who is 9 gets herself ready and never needs reminding. She'd absolutley lose it if she wasnt ready for school on time.
I also have a 7 year old and 3 year old (not in proper school yet) The 7 year old is the pain to get ready for school.
I usually go up and speak to her, but if she's dawdling or running behind schedule I'll call up to her to get moving or that her bkfst is ready, or whatever.
That's why we do showers at night, you might want to do that instead. Also, to the OP, you sound just like me. And the closer it gets to Spring, the slower they are in the a.m.! I try not to yell because it gets our birds noisy...they feed off of tension, so in a way they help me to keep calm. LOL
Sounds like a lot of us have stairs. Great exercise! LOL I try not to run up and down them too much...I'm up and down them all day with laundry, etc. I had an intercom in my 2 story house as a child, it was nice. Maybe we should get one now!

Hi, I'm new to this messageboard, but am looking forward to meeting others in similar situations as me.
Kayleigh is 12 1/2 and really doesn't need any reminders.

I'm totally hands off with it, as well.

Guess I'm lucky!
