We saw "School of Rock" as a family. Let the kids go without an adult? - no way!

Hi!

The last movie (I think--we don't actually hit the theaters much) Justan went to was "Holes" and that's been some time ago.

Pirates of the Caribbean over the summer, with the two of us. We all loved it. He has no interest in going with just friends yet, and Ilikeitlikethat (wouldn't permit him to yet anyway).

We have gone to the movies as a family exactly once (last year for the Big Fat Greek Wedding). Otherwise, if dd wants to see a movie usually I am the one who "gets" to go, because dh refuses this duty. Dd doesn't get to the movies very often, LOL. I have a hard time thinking of any movie we might all enjoy. I want to see Dogville, but it is hardly kid-friendly and dh would rather see either documentaries or war movies, hardly kid-driendly either and I would fall asleep.

This summer she really wanted to go with her friends without adult interference. We live in a very tight neighborhood and there is a cute little outdoor movie theatre (common in Greece). So, I thought it was fine as long as I picked her up at night. Some of the other mothers balked, so the kids did go as a group a couple of times with one of the nervous moms as chaperone. They saw the pirate movie and they saw Bruce Almighty. Later on dd and girlfriend (who has a non-nervous mom) did go to the same cinema by themselves. They were so pleased with themselves.
