My DD hates my UGGS

My DD told me today I embarrassed her when I came to pick her up from soccer with my UGGS on, which I love even if they're a little odd looking...I thought they were in fashion!?
Anyway, she informed me that her dad told her if he ever embarrassed her to tell him....which she says he never has...but i guess mom is not very fashionable in her opinion! I had jeans on and she says you don't wear them with jeans!! AAH! I was not happy with her tone towards me about this. I am tired of not being appreciated by my kids.
Do your kids question your style? Do you care, or do you just blow it off?
I am no fashion expert, i know that, but I do have some taste. I usually dress casually, and I wear scrubs to work so I don't dress up a lot in general...I like to be comfortable.
Does anyone here love UGGS or do you hate them?? LOL
I just had a bad day, so thanks for listening!

We're supposed to embarrass our kids, its a Mom's job. :-) I embarrass mine just by breathing in front of her friends. LOL Its rather funny actually. One time I was pulling into our driveway as she was walking home with a friend and the friend starts waving madly to me and Kristen smacks her hand out of the air. It was rather amusing. Don't acknowledge your parents is the first rule of cooldom in the tween world it seems.

I would just blow it off. Of course my style and that of a 12 year old are going to be different. She would die if I showed up in skate shoes. But mostly she doesn't care, guess she thinks I dress like a Mom. I think Uggs are not as popular as they once were, but they aren't "out". Pamela Anderson is a big Uggs fan so if she critiques your style again show her this picture and ask her if she'd like you to show up to soccer in this outfit since a celebrity is wearing uggs with a bathing suit it MUST be in.

Should be good for an eye roll and a huff or too. LOL I love harrassing my DD that way. If she doesn't think they go with jeans then what would she suggest? Anyway, I just say "yeah yeah mind your own business" when my DD starts criticizing me for something stupid. She's a kid, what do they know. ;-P

She may not like them but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are not in style.

LOL... I love my Uggs, too! They are SOOO comfortable. And I would only wear them with jeans -- not with short skirts like you see some of the teeny-boppers doing...

My DS (almost 12) is always telling me stuff like that-- I shouldn't wear my glasses because it's embarrassing... I shouldn't get my hair cut so short, it's embarrassing... He doesn't like my Uggs, either. It actually cracks me up. Parents are supposed to be an embarrassment to their tweens, I think; it's the natural order of things. ;-)

I just suggest not getting so bent out of shape--think of all the nasty things our kids say to us from time to time--their kids.

Daisy wears UGGs(well the American Eagle version) with jeans, so do I.

Sounds like something else was bugging your dd and she latched onto that to yell at you about.

I live to embrass my daughter ;-) -- just kidding. She already knows that mom dresses the way she likes.

Let it roll.

Thanks everyone. I just can't understand my kids sometimes. I will just ignore these comments, it just caught me by surprise. There are some moms wearing UGGS in my area, it was alittle warm yesterday and I guess he thought I was weird wearing them when it was warm, but I've seen people do that!

That's so funny! Mine are the same color, but the shorter ones. They are so comfortable! But, I would never wear them like she does! I'll have to show DD the picture!

Exactly, I'm not looking to be her pal like her dad is.
Other moms are wearing Uggs where we live. Even if they weren't, I like them.
