My neurologist left town without notice!

Ladies,
I'm supposed to be at my annual neurology appointment right now....but my neurologist left town & didn't notify anyone!
Now I have to make an appointment with my primary care doctor who can give me a referral to see a new specialist....did I mention that we don't have insurance????
I'm so angry I don't know whether to scream or to cry!

Lots of hugs coming your way. How insensitive & uncaring to do something like that. Where are your records? I hope your primary care dr. doesn't charge you full price for a visit to get a referral. Maybe he knows what the story is about your nuro & hopefully all your records.
We took dd to get her eyes examined & the dr. said she needed an adjustment in her script but she wanted us to see the specialist who discharged Nik 3 yrs. ago. I call the scpecialist & can't get an appt. till jan. & when they heard why I needed to go I was told that could have been done by fax or phone consult. But It honestly wasn't needed at all so she gave me a name of someone else & we're going next week. So now we have used our 1 examine for a dr. who didn't do anything, we pay for the 2nd. dr. out of pocket & we still have to pay for new glasses.
Dh had to pay $207.00 for meds for his lung wheezing that just developed because he doesn't have coverage for meds.
I guess you know where I'm going w/this. I really do feel your pain & understand it & I sincerely hope our new president does something about people like us who need good affordable health care.
I hope you find a new nuro soon & I hope it doesn't cost you alot. Please let us know how you make out. There are way too many people like us that have either no coverage or inadequate coverage & I do understand your frustration over your nuro just up & leaving.

Good morning, everyone, & thanks for the info about the hospital!
I feel a little better about the situation now.....not so panicky but still stressed.
I'll check with my local hospital to see what I can learn about the situation; hopefully my records aren't a lost cause.
