I would still take her to the doctor but for now, try increasing her fluids. Dehydration can cause headaches.

What a coincidence, my dd that had the dehydration problems is named Abby also, and our last initial is G. :)

I hope they will let her carry a water bottle to school.

It could also be the angle of her neck as she is bending to read books, study, etc, is causing stress and fatigue on her neck muscles, which travels up and causes headaches...it happens to me too when I sit at the computer too long, or read too long...Eye exam is a good idea, and ped visit too, and I would also have her stop whatever she's doing every hour or half-hour, and do some neck rotations (slowly rotate her head in a circle to stretch her neck), and bend her head forward and backward SLOWLY to keep those muscles from getting stiff.

Liz had headaches too..hers was a combination of neck fatigue and, believe it or not, heavy hair...her hair is THICK and she likes to keep it long...what we did to combat that and still keep her hair long was have it cut in long layers...she got a cute new style and hasn't had a headache since! :)

Best of luck!
