This one seems easy to me....have them write and video their own movie! I would narrow it down ahead of time, have your son come up with a title and basic theme, but then I'd have the kids work together to come up with parts (with something for everyone to do of course), maybe design simple props/costumes/background, then using a basic video camera I'd film their movie and let them watch it together.
I would probably come up with some boy oriented art tasks, or even some cooperative games they can play together indoors.
Personally, unless it was thundering/lightning, I would let my kids swim too, even in the rain!!
Perfect, he can shoot a movie with his own camera!
We have a pool too, and our kids and their friends actually CAN stay out there for hours and hours, we have a big group over weekly and they are in the pool for about 4 or 5 hours with breaks for snacks or horseshoes or whatever, but we all have very outdoorsy kids, I think that would vary depending on the group of kids and their activity level. Not all kids enjoy being outside for that length of time so I would judge it based upon the kids in attendance. If you have a hot tub, definitely make that available, all the kids always enjoy that.
For games I tend to choose a few and let them pick, current fave in our tween/teen group is Loaded Question, it is hilarious (Jr version, the regular one isn't as fun). Guesstures and Pictionary are fun for that age too. Guesstures would go with your theme too, sort of.
Other ideas would be to make ice cream, have the kids do the cranking, pop REAL popcorn (it never ceases to amaze me how kids are enthralled when I make popcorn in a pan...like they never realized you could POP it without a microwave), organize a few pool games, etc. If it is a night time party I would buy a bunch of gloSticks for the kids.
When my kids were young I tended to organize every activity, but quite honestly now I have a basic framework of ideas and let the kids pretty much call the shots on what they want to do, around here they always come up with stuff without issue!
I second the idea of a Wii tournament; back in May, our middle school had its first spring carnival, and all the MS aged boys were in the band hall playing the Wii!
Girls like o do crafts though. If you find the right craft that can take up a ton of time.Although 15 girls is a lot.The most I ever had was 10.I am now down to 5 or 6.
I'm with you, I think girl parties are easier to actually plan, boys need lots of physical outlets, whereas girls enjoy doing sit down crafts and more "social" type games (which are easier to plan, imo).
Either way, I have found that the kids find things to do, with or without a lot of plans, but for me personally, having a plan of action keeps things flowing and helps me keep the kids from getting into things I may not want to them into!

Welcome to the board and what a beautiful family you have!!
I have found that the more we stress out with organizing the more it is simply our own issue.
