Do you still love them now that they've changed? Always was the ONLY kind I could wear because (this sounds crazy) the discharge can't touch my skin (it's like I'm allergic to it). Since they got rid of the plastic, it doesn't just go away anymore..it soaks in through the fabric, and touches my vulva skin. So, as much as I absolutely HATE them, my dr says I HAVE to use tampons now.

Aly uses Always too (to answer your question, Dee), and it works out very well for her. I LOVE the thinness, but still holds everything it needs to hold. I don't care for the wings, so I bought her the ones without (that I didn't know existed in the thin pads because I always used the wings, but not my choice).

Interesting--Aly started right around the 100 lb mark. (Not me...I was still 85 lbs entering high school, but had started in 8th grade.)

Again...that didn't happen here either. I was one week shy of 13. My mom was 12. But Aly was 11.

did you think you were lucky at 15? I remember reading Are You There, God....and seeing her mortified that a cousin was 16...I was begging & pleading to not get mine until I was 16!

Funny you should ask..I really wanted my period! All of my friends and my stepsister (1.5 yrs older) had theirs and I wanted mine too. What a dummy, huh? They kept saying " Be thankful you don't have one yet."

I think I would have been thrilled if I never got mine.I was almost 14 and I still was not happy. On the other hand I am looking forward to menopause(no more periods).I don't think Gabby is all that excited about starting her period either.I want her to wear panty liners just in case, but she refuses, because she says they give her wedgie. She won't even put a pad in her backpack, because it might pop out.I think she would be mortified if she had to tell the school nurse.I think she is just hoping she strats at home the 1st time.I never understood any one actually wanting to start.Althou I did have friends who were thrilled!

Hi, im new here and my 11 year old started her 1st one last month while she was on vacation with my mom and she freaked out(to say the least, LOL). My sister and OD made sure she had pads, Midol and a chocolate bar for the rest of the trip. When she came home, i asked her how she felt and she said she fine, a little crampy tho. I got out my calender and told her to tell me when her period ended so we both can keep track and that way when she feels the symptoms, she can take Midol to lessen her cramps. Come to find this out......she comes on right after I get done with mine(I feel so bad for my hubby...2 cranky ladies within

Today is the 7th day she has it poor kid. No cramps, thankfully she doesn't do pain well. I hope she's coming to the end of it, I thought this was a bit long for a 1st.

Wow..poor thing!

Aly has her for about 5 days, but she's now at about 23 days between periods (which means Tuesday)...it's horrible and unfair. She was 29 between the first 2, then 27 after that, and then it's been 23 days for the last 2.

But at least she has no cramps--Aly hasn't either.
