**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

My son was misdiagnosed for 10 years. Have your children tested for food allergies before you accept a behavioral diagnosis.

OK, then I hope this is ok to post in this thread.

DYK or think what an appropriate/legal age is for an older sibling to babysit a younger sibling?

Greg is going to be 11 in November so I have started thinking ahead of when we may

DYK

For some reason I thought 12 was a magical "legal" age.

I do let Alexis stay home with Caleb sometimes. And she does babysit, so others actually pay her to stay home with their kids.

I thought it was 12.

Although with me it would depend on the age of the younger sibling.I would not be cofortable leaving my 12 year old with an infant or toddler, unless there was some adult she could call in the neighborhood that she could call if something came up.

They also have babysitting classes,so if you do have your ds babysit his little sis maybe have him take a babysitting class.

A lot would also depend on if you can trust them together when you are not home.

I usually don't leave Gab for more than an hour or so,but she gets scared in the house alone for somereasn now.

The other day Gabby and a friend stayed at the friend's house while the friend's mom and I went to dinner for a friend's b'day. They called us at 8:30,because it was getting dark and told us to come home they were scared.

We were home in 5 mins.

Gabby likes classic rock and 80's rock. She got a Nivana tee shirt for school. She also went to a Lynard Skynard concert in the spring.

I am guessing that alexis and Caleb get along pretty well when you are gone.

Gabby has this thing about someone breaking into our house now,so she won't even stay home a lone in the house if it is dark out.She has trouble falling asleep now too unless dh or I are down stairs when she falls asleep.Plus every little noise makes her nervous now.She says she has been dreaming about a murder coming in the how and murdering her.I have no idea where this is coming from.
