**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

well, then...I'm not telling you. Learn to keep up, will ya???

JUST KIDDING (and you know I am because I am the ULTIMATE skipper during the school year)...lol

She will play the clarinet--which my mom played!!

She tested on flute, clarinet, & trumpet. The band director said she played clarinet best, but didn't tell her that and let her decide which of the 3 (and we talked about moving on to other instruments from there as well). She chose clarinet and he said she played that the best.

If he had just said, "You're playing clarinet!" (or whatever), the student might not like it so much and might not practice and do what they need to do. So, he still leaves the choice up to them.

hmm...wellll confusing subject--I've always been told it's required to take so many minutes of PE each week, but apparently, you can get out of it in junior high if you take an arts course or a foreign language at most schools (but it's definitely not that case in all junior highs--a friend's son will play in the band AND take PE...he has to take PE, but could choose band or foreign language).

Jordyn wanted to play the trumpet in 6th grade, they told her she didn't have the right lips for it, she was so disappointed.
