DYK Thread for October

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

Jackie usually is suppose to get up by 6:30 to leave by 7:10 for school. lately she has been leaving by 7:20 to make it to school just in time to be in her seat by 7:30. I dont mind driving her. but she wont get up.

The bus comes at 6:45. To make the bus she has to be ready to go by 6:30. no matter what

SO as a punishment she needed to realize how lucky she has it. So i made her get the bus this morning.

My whole point here is for her to learn to get up when i tell her to. Not when she wants to. I dont want her to be late. but the bus thing worked out for me. I got to take an hour nap and get up and take a shower and get ready for work in Peace.......lol

DYK that is very early indeed! I am assuming she is not a morning person at all (I am not and neither is Amy)

Gab came home from school on Wed and told me the school nurse told her her vision was borderline, and her left eye seemed a little week.I called our eye dr on yesterday and they could have ave us an appointment today, but Gab had the field trip.I thought we would have to wait until Nov.,but they actually had an opening at 3:30 yesterday. So I called the office because and told them to tell Gab I'd be there at 2:30,because I was worried about her taking the bus home and you can be darn sure they would not tell her not to.Naturally they did not, because when I came to pick her up she actually thought that I came because I was bringing her her reading extension poster that I made her forget(yeh right!)Not really sure why they have anyone working in the office since they are pretty useless.Any way Gabby did end up nedding glasses, but it is pretty much the weakest script they have. The dr suggested we just go with glasses since she only plans to wear them to see the board. If she decides she wants to wear them more we can take her back to get fitted for contacts.Naturally it took Gab forever to find the frames. It is unbelievable how much they charge for plastic frames. The frames were more than the lens.I am sure we could have got cheaper frames else where but we were there and I knew we would be there forever,They only seed to have designer frames or cheap ugly frames.Naturally Gabby fell in love with one of the most expensive pairs of frames in the place. They did look the best on her though and the nice guy did discount them 20%.All I can say is Gabby better take care of her glasses like she does her cell phone and her i-pod.She is horrible when it comes to sunglasses she is always losing the things.Gabby wanted Chanel frames but they die not have them so she ended up with Dior frames. She looks really cute in them.Hopefully she will let me take a pic to show you guys once they come in,but I doubt since she does not plan on wearing them a lotI kond of think the guy gave us the discount because he wanted us gone.I knew once Gabby tried on the Dior ones there was no chaging her mind, but $300 for frames seemed kind of steep,so I am glad he discounted.I also thouht these frames looked the best on her.I am glad Dale did not ask what we paid;-)

NO she is not a morning person however getting up for school is not a difficult thing. she needs to learn to move in the mornings.

A lot of people are not morning people, but they don't really have a choice so they have to adapt. Is Jackie usually in bed at a decent time(10 or 11ish)?Gab is just good about getting up in the morning, she jsut takes FOREVER to get ready.

jackie's bed time usually does not play a part in her getting up.
She usually is in bed by 11 at the latest. and early as in 8:30 but either way she still draggs in the morning.

I really think the only time she will wear them is at school when she sits in the back, because she does have to squint to see the board. That is the main reason we did not go with contacts, because she would be forced to wear them all the time.Although contacts would have been cheaper I am sure.I am still amazed that the frames cost
