DYK Thread for October

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

Drinking wine, LOL

But in all seriousness: I have to get the kids' Halloween costumes together

Grocery shop (Yuck!), and laundry, of course

Then tomorrow I have to make a big Greek meal (Which I'm actually dreading), because our pediatrician and his wife are coming to dinner, and to give the kids and me the H1N1 vaccine

He agreed to bring them to our house if I'd cook "Greek" for him, LOL

Michael got his at work just today!! Seems they've been scarce at the hospital, so he couldn't give them to us

We're getting them, since Michael is soooooo exposed every single day

We are also having my FIL over on Sunday after church (our turn!)

So that's my big, exciting weekend (Although I do love our pediatrician and will be happy to make him souvlaki, LOL)

How about you??

Yes but the cute frames cost $$$$$.Of course Gabrielle is thrilled with them, because they are designer. There was no getting out of there without that pair.I could have ask for the script, but then I would have been at another store forever.I also did aree with her that she looked the best in that pair.Plus the cheapest frames(that Gabby would wear)

Oh, and wish us luck with Jenna and the shot, LOL

Michael doesn't want them to have the mist, since it's a live virus, and I don't even think our pediatrician HAS the mist

Seems to be more scarce

Anyway, you know the deal with Jenna and shots!!

What do you bet it takes me and BOTH doctors to hold her down to give it to her?

She is already wary of her doctor

He's been over a few times for dinner, and we've all been to his house, and she is always waiting for him to whip out some needle or something and stick her

So now her nightmare is becoming reality, poor kid! :(

I'm with you.My phone is always on vibrate too.Although in Cherl'scase if it wa sthe same person every time I doubt it was a kids emercency.Dale is always out of town so they can NEVER reach him,so I am the one they have to call. When Gab first started school I did not have a cell and the one time they did call me my mom was in surgery and my MIL sent her to schoolwith a fever and she had a sub who toldher to sit down and shut up.I did callthe school in the am with my number and the number of my friend who was watching Gabby for me after school, but they never called her and poor Gab was stuck at shchool until 2 when I got home and checked my machine>I was so ticked at MIL and the sub.Plus I felt guilty for days. The nurse usually will get me at home and some of the stuff she calls about now is rather annoying, but what can you do.

What's the blindfold game?? I'm not familiar

I'm stressing this already, now that I think about it

I didn't even tell her Dr. Alex was coming over for dinner, because then she's going to ask if she's getting a shot (Yes, she's THAT paranoid!!)

Let's just hope she doesn't try and bite him or kick him, the way she did to her dad when he gave her the regular flu shot!

Ugh. . !!
