DYK Thread for October

**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**

DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know

It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members

Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

Good to see you too Ang!

Thanks for asking about my mom. She is about the same though, still not wanting to do anything or go anywhere. every once in a while she will get up and my dad will think she is doing better, but the next day she is in bed all day again.

I talked to her yesterday, and she sounded like it was a good day. The high school band sponsors a turkey dinner every year, and my cousin picked up plates for my parents. My mom said she was going to try to eat some of it, which will be a big thing for her, she has been very picky about what she eats, only the same few things over and over.

How is your mom doing?

Ok, I ate breakfast, and I've played around enough on the computer.

Time to get busy, I guess.

I'll reward myself with computer time though :) I'll take a break between rooms.

Not at all.I enjoyed visiting wih some of Dale's family and the food was good.Gabby had fun with her cousin who is only a year younger than her.I figured she would. We truely would not have made Gab go if Darla would not have been there, but I am sure that is why Gabby was invited, since Gabby and Darla were the only "kids"there.Dale's cousins kids were not invited, but they are also younger. The only interesting part was watching SIL cry after opening every present and cry whe she read the cards. Not sure I unederstand being quite that emoition, but that is SIL and DAle told Gab it would happen. She was really surprised though and she was so happy to see her dd,Dana who told her she could not come home from Penn State this weekend.

DYK I hear ya about the rain...traffic just becomes so much worse around here. Esp w/all the construction, the mud & runoff exacerbates the driving conditions.

DYK mom has been tired but her nausea has improved to the point where she isn't losing her cookies anymore. She's gradually taking liquids again but I have to admit I'm worried about my dad.

The nausea from the chemo has to me horrible.I used to hate callin or going over my moms because I felt so helpless because there was nothing I could do to make her feel better. She just wanted to be alone and she could eat nothing.Dale's parents would bring her stuff as would her neighbors, but my mom was just so down and that was never her .Glad o hear your mom cn eat stuff. Is your dad willing to except any help yet?Being the caregiver is very stressful

I'm glad she is feeling a little better.

I know what you mean about your dad. I am worried about mine also. He has barely left the house since the spring, other than for doctor's appointments and to run into the store for 5 minutes. He still has my uncles going to the grocery store for him most of the time.
