My almost 13 year old DD likes to sleep with me sometimes. Is that odd? I find it annoying. LOL But not that odd. Now if he was sleeping with his older DD then yeah, I think that's inappropriate and if I had a son it would not be happening but I think for same sex parents and kids its fine. Some kids just have that need to feel close to the parent.
I would say the kid should have the OPTION of having his own bed; the fact that his father's bed seems to be his only option does strike me as odd. Surely within the next year or two, that arrangement is not going to fly with the boy anymore.
Both of my boys (ages 12 and 8) occasionally crawl into bed with me when dad is out of town... I don't encourage it, but I don't think it's "wrong," either. We have a big king size bed, you can't even tell who's in it with you, lol!
His son may be feeling very insecure at the moment with the break up of the parents relationship and only seeing dad every other w/end so I would not say it is odd or inappropriate just prob a bit crowded and the son will grow out of it when his security levels go up a bit more
No I don't think it is odd. Maybe there are some separation issues neither one have dealt with yet. My two older ones would sleep with me if I would let them...and my 5 year old doesn't even know he has a bed LOL. Just watch for any other signs that would tip you off..but if it is just sleeping in the same bed, that isn't wierd, to me, anyway.
The boys parents have been divorced for over 5 yrs now. This little boy has such fears, it's quite scary.
His emotional maturity is that of a 5 yr old boy also. I can see he's getting panic attacks etc. I've raised this issues with the Father, but my requests to help this boy are ignored.
By the way, the Father is my ex who I left 3 weeks ago b/c of stuff like this. His son will vomit all the time. He will ask for something to eat and if it's not to his liking, will chew it and open his mouth and let the food fall from the plate. He will crawl on the floor when everyone is around the table eating. He will walk into my home and demand I make him food and "Hurry it up" And my ex would say NOTHING. Not get up off the floor, or don't spit food out!
The boy also very spoiled. Gets whatever he asks for. I'm sure in his entire 12 1/2 yrs, he's never learned what disappointment was.

Like the others, the only thing I find odd is that the boy's only option is to sleep with his dad.
As for my own child, she is a wild sleeper, so co-sleeping went out the window after only 2 occasions of it!
