DYK Thread for December
**For those uncertain to what a DYK thread is......**
DYK stands for Did You Know or Do You Know
It is simply a chit chat thread where every thought is written in sentences and each sentences starts with the initials DYK---it is fun, entertaining and a great way to meet the board members
Below are some fun DYK blinkies--feel free to snag any if you like:

I like this one...
I thought she was right around Abby's age!
It's always nice to see other kids that are about the same age and size as your own.
All of Abby's friends are shorter, and most of them are sticks compared to her.
It doesn't seem to bother her though, thank goodness.
My mil and sil are always commenting on how big Abby is getting.
She is taller than mil and sil (sil that's not related, dh's brother's wife).
Of course, I feel like a whale next to them.
DYK I think Aly is well w/in normal range....I know Rach is in the lower end of hers; when she remarked to her ped in April's physical she wanted to lose 10lbs the dr showed her the percentile height/weight charts & said she'd be anorexic at that point so after that Rach finally stopped talking about going on a diet thank goodness!
DYK she hasn't started her period but that is normal for girls active in sports. I have a friend whose daughter competes in gymnastics & she didn't get hers until almost age 14 while her other dd got hers at age 12. Not sure if its related to body fat or something else though.
I'm gonna have to steal that one!
I am on New Moon for the second time.
yes, she's definitely in the normal range. just above the 70th percentile. Higher than she's ever been, but as I said, it's that puberty body fat that WILL go away.
sure, you can have it! ;o)
Have you read Eclipse yourself yet? I'm not going to tell YOU not to let her read it, but I told Aly not to read it yet. It's a little more mature.
But, Aly's really innocent like that...she doesn't really read teen YA books, she's still into the 9-12 YA books. I know that there are quite a few girls this age that have read The Clique, Gossip Girls, & the Scott Westerfield books (right? Pretties & Uglies all). I haven't read those either, but I think they might be a little more mature.
I think it's related to both,. body fat and activity level.
I know a friend's dd was at least 14 when she started.
Yep, she's read them all, including Breaking Dawn, but I made her skip the section with the honeymoon.
It probably was a little mature for her, but I was just glad she was reading something, and seemed to really take a real interest in something.
She read the Uglies series too. I read some of them, but not all of them.
I better go, Zoe's fever is back up and she is shivering and crying, she feels awful.
DYK cute picture of the girls on Santa's lap ;-) and there's even a facial resemblence, maybe its more the expressions? of Aly & Ali. Ur right she doesn't look petite there but she's not huge either! Definitely in normal proportions as far as body. Here's a recent pic of Rach before we decorated the tree...she doesn't look too thin in pics thankfully!
